VIDEO GUIDE ""~~;..;~V ELMO'S PEACOCK (PCOC) BUILD

Quick Stats
Spoiler
BUILD STATS:
40% to all Elemental Resistances.
88% increased Armour.
247% increased maximum Energy Shield + (20% maximum ES) = 295%ES total.
35-45% chance to block.
86% increased Evasion Rating.
PHYS BUILD MADE TO SCALE INTO THE NEW PATCHES.

Pros & Cons
Spoiler
PROS:
- YOU FEEL LIKE AN ABSOLUTE GOD. PRESS ONE BUTTON (BLOOD RAGE) THEN LET THE OP BEGIN!
- PHYS DAMAGE BUILT TO SCALE INTO THE NEXT PATCH 10.8
- Possibly the tankiest build in the game (haven't seen anything tankier).
- Shiled + Claw, Wtf? who uses shield and claw.......
- 30-70% scaling crit chance (INSANE MODE)
- Great DPS (not on paper DPS).
- Very High Natural all resist.
- Amazing for solo.
- Map groups love you and beg for you to come.
- Unique NON cookie cutter mechanic
- Relatively cheap to build
- Can do 90% of map suffixes and prefixes with ease (I BUILD GUIDES FOR LATEGAME)
- Very Intuitive (uses 2 curses, one at a time, depending on your situation)
- Mana cost of cyclone isn't outrageous as we use small % modifiers for our support gems.

CONS:
- Large armor monsters, can at times, take long to kill (pretty rare though)
- Sucks balls until your level 60+ (I can't confirm this as I use freeze pulse to power level
- Accuracy is always a challenge without Resolute technique.
- Once you get to lvl 70 with this guide, it will kill poe for you (you won't want to play any other build and you'll never die).

Where To Start:
This build was created with a few thing in mind, rebreak poe harder then my LS build could, make it currency friendly, and use a bunch of trash items like claws, phys damage, blind gem, and cyclone that no one saw any value in to make an innovative build using tink mechanics.

NOTE ABOUT VIDEOS: for demonstration purposes I did not use granite flasks for an extra 10k armor and only used blood rage for the extra leech in a few spots so I could showcase the raw power of this without hitting its full potential.

Skill Tree

Gear (I LINKED SOME OF MINE FOR EXAMPLE PURPOSES)
Spoiler

Boots: Rainbow strides are great on this build. Due to our high block chance the natural spell block they give is a great addition to our build, they also have the move speed, mana, and all resist that we need.

Gloves: your going to want three things here; Increased Attack Speed, high Energy Shield, and Accuracy. extra Mana would be a bonus.

Belt: you'll want Armor and Energy shield here, also if your low on resists you can use the belt spots for remainder.

Helm: Energy Shield and Accuracy (Mana and Resists are optional but helpful as needed)

Amulet: Stats and Mana Leech, Other stats you may consider are -Accuracy, Energy Shield%, Mana Regen, Crit Chance/Multiplier, Armor, Evasion, Phys damage, Resists - use as needed.

Rings: Accuracy, Regen, Energy Shield, Mana if needed
Ring 2: THIS NEEDS TO BE A DRAM FRAG.... ALL CYCLONE BUILDS NEED A DREAM FRAG..... FREEZE IS THE BANE OF ANY CYCLONE BUILD, NOT JUST THIS ONE!!!!

Shield:
Any type here but generally Energy Shield hybrid, preferably Energy Shield and Armor. I talk about this in depth in the videos, watch videos for full explanation.

Claw: Physical ONLY claw (Accuracy and Crit nice here)

Chest: Big Energy Shield + 6L Res if needed. (Can run hybrid Energy Shield + (Armor or Evasion) watch video for full details)

Scaling towards the future:
Spoiler
GGG has stated in a recent manifesto they will be making physical damage have an added effect of stun on crit, this will make the build shine even more. This build is already broken but with the upcoming changes to physical this build will scale incredibly well.

Manifesto source: http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/322594

Gems:
Spoiler

4L Cyclone, Melee Physical Damage, Power Charge On Critical, Blind - 5L (Faster Attacks) 6L (Increased Critical Damage) -

Auras: Reduced mana + Discipline, Clarity, Grace. (When is GGG going to release a phys aura? that will be an interesting day).

Curses: Enfeeble, Vulnerability (As a 4L use increased area of effect and Added Duration).

Other Spells: Blood Rage (As a 3L use faster casting and Increased Duration).

SIDE NOTE: I haven't tested it yet but discharge may be awesome with this build, not really sure yet as I haven't had time to test it.

Hi, since I am rather new to the game, I would like to know if this build is also playable with self-found stuff? I know that it can reach its optimum with proper gear, but can you give us a hint how gear dependent this build is?
Spoiler

The build isn't that gear dependent, Like every other build the more links you have the stronger your skill are and the better gear you get the stronger you end up being. Like every build in path of exile it scales with better gear.

to give you a breakdown as what I payed for my gear as a reference point.

1 chaos ea.

1 gcp

Had a white circlet I used a regal on so 1 regal

traded a glove worth 1 ex and linked em myself

1ex 1 divine

3ex (just upgraded from my original post which was a belt i was running for a long time and i bought for 1 alch, buying a belt is cheap since u only need to focus on your armor + es (res only if needed).)

Claw 6ex (one of the best phys claws on the server, the equiv in an axe or sword would be 20 exalt or more, so this is very very cheap) you guys can find something end game for <1ex if your okay with not having the best since claws are dirt cheap.

Chest I got 6L'd for 12ex and chaosed myself to 700es. This will always be expensive no watter what class you roll, It doesn't matter if you armor evasion or ES 6L IS BIG MONEY.
With that being said the beautiful thing about this build is it can run (pure es, es+armor, or es+evasion due to the skill nodes) so you guys have many many options and can find a 5L for around 2-3 gcp and use that until you have enough money for a 6L.

Shield cost me 11ex + a ring I traded. Again this is a GG piece and I have the money for it.... you guys can get a shield that is 600/300 or maybe 500/400 for a reasonable amount <1ex, you don't have to spent 15+ exalt like I did to make this work, more money doesn't equal more block chance, my advice is to craft a white archon shield, hit it up with 15-20 chaos and take an ok roll when it comes.

Total cost for your guys entire build not having to buy end game GG stuff should be
2ex for rings and ammy(includes 1.5ex for a dream frag). 6gcp on a claw (can hit 300 dps+ with 6 gcp, might be mixed damage but fine till u can buy GG) 10-20 chaos crafting a shield, 2-3 regals + alterations for a helm or again 10-20 chaos, boots u can get rainbow strides for 1 ex and link em yourself, chest u can buy a 5L for 3-5gcp. and gloves u can have for a few chaos.

If you guys can't afford this then you should just make your own "unique budget" build based around the items you find because this is about as cheap as it comes.

One question, do you level Clarity?

Spoiler
Clarity should be leveled based on your mana regen rate, level as you need it. I use to run a lvl 14 clarity now I'm down to runniing a lvl 9 clarity. Base it on your needs, and having a few clarity gems leveled in your stash at various levels is never a bad thing.

What about Lightning Thorns?
Spoiler
Oh sorry about that, well lightning thorns is something that effects every class. Recently there waqs a patch that changed lightning thorns to effect all damage types and not just physical, now lightning thorns is triggered off all damage types including elemental, spell, and physical.

I don't think there is one real counter to lightning thorns as it is a tough mechanic to deal with no matter which class you are. You are correct in saying hitting more often owuld in fact trigger the effect so yes in a way it is a tough mechanic for this class but that is an impact statement....all classes have a varying degree of difficulty with lightning thorns now.

Some classes and builds will have an easier time with this (for example marauder has the reduced crit damage and maximum to all resists which would help with this, coupled with puritylightning thorns can be very manageable) this is the best case scenario and most effective way in the game to deal with it, with that being said mauarders still die to the dreaded thorns.

The best thing any class no matter the skill nodes, skill types, life pools, and other factors is to just be aware of lightning thorns and deal with it slowly, no class will GG lightning thorns and complete be able to ignore it unless there a totem build.

To answer your question yes I have tested it vs lightning thorns, my answer is to just be aware of it and dont go nuts vs it, the build has about 10 open spots for skill gems, you can equip a single target skill of any type to deal with this one situation and even use purity to edge off the damage a little more as there is more then enough mana to on this build to run (1, 40% aura) as well as the auras I have listed, I can confirm this as I do it while still maintaining unlimited mana cast.

That is very generous of you!

Quick question: I'm currently trying to get a descent "farming character". I levelup a sumonner to 60 but I don't like it that much and read that GGG plan to add even more aoe to the game to give an hard time to multiplayer and summonners. Wich build would you recommend me, between this one and your previous one, or even another if you think there is better for farming ;)?

Sounds sick, even more so because about 2 weeks ago I was playing around with a build that was very similar idea to this one because I thought it had a ton of potential (it wasn't nearly as unkillable though). Will be starting this immediately :D.

Gotta say this is by far most impressive use of underused gems, skills and even evasion stat I've seen, you've earned all my respect for it but wondering if testing on lightning thorns yet seems like effect may be bigger given that it is multiple smaller hits and thorn just reflects based on if hit and not damage dealt just wondering if the regen would be enough. Once again Kudos to you man great stuff

I love them both but this build is just was too strong, farmwise they both can clear maps insanely fast. I would recommend this cyclone build due to how unique and fun it is :D !

You should watch the video entitled LATE GAME MAP REFLECT, it talks about damage return and will answer your question with an in depth explanation (You might have not seen it in time due to the fact I uploaded it later then the others)

Well your claw is absolutely godly...

How much PhysDPS would you say is needed on a claw for entering maps with this build?

Funny you should mention my claw, yes I agree it is absolutely godly and prolly one of the best phys claws on the server, and you know how much I bought it for.... 6 ex, that is dirt cheap for a GG tier 1 pure weapon with gg suffixes.... the equiv in an axe or sword would be 20+ exalt. that is great news for us since these "gg god tier" weapons are going for a fraction of the price vs there equiv counter parts.

Hrmm I would say over 250dps would be good but over 300 ideal, the good thing is claws are considered "trash" so before they blow up in value you guys could scower the forums for it.

I'll be giving a half decent claw away and some es gear later tonight or tomorrow so just stay tuned
