The reason is simple - greed. GGG wants players to crave what other players have and grind and scam to get it, that's the hook to keep them playing and eventually splurging on mtx.
A rewarding ssf experience will allow most of the players to explore the boundaries of available content in a reasonable time frame. At that point the only thing to keep them interested would be meaningful new content - at the level of an expansion at the least. Which translates into more work for GGG and less profit.
So, a big fat nope. The gods may be crazy, but GGG probably ain't.

Love these posts.
All content is done in a couple of days every league.
Casual or not, if you can't do it in 3 months, you didn't try.
Being handed everything on a silver platter isn't fun, no matter how much you think it would be.

I think it is even more malicious than that, the more casual players are there to feed currency to the "power-gamers" who have been indoctrinated into gambling addicts.
Splitting off parts of the population destroys this interaction and must be punished, SSF is made to be punishing to people who choose to not conform. You need to have the casuals to buy the cast offs of the people who grind the game like a profession. They can take currencies gained from that interaction and ‘Craft’ items with slot machines eventually pulling the lever enough times to get into the next tier of grinding zones and even more trash to sell.
Any thing that would disturb that ‘food chain’ by splitting off the top of the food chain players from the casual krill to sate there gambling addiction is not going to happen, this is why it hasn’t happened.
It would be trivial to add private leagues with modifiers that could be used to customize the difficulty of the game to whatever the player wants with the requirement that easier modes would be required to be voided leagues, all those things have been done before. This would effectively be like adding a subscription option to the game, but it would be a delicious poison killing the game surely. The food chain would break down with the trade league top 10% not having gawking masses to fawn over there most recent slot machine item victories that trivialize the game content making end game boss runs count in seconds. The casuals would be able to reach a point of satisfaction and could finally move on from their tormented spirit existence.

Love the fact you completely ignored my post, in favor of some ridiculous conspiracy theory...
Again, EVERYTHING is cleared in a few days, every league on SSF HC...
The sheer level of denial on these forums is actually insane.

That theory seems to hold up inline with ggg's decisions, It also puts them in a weird lose/lose scenario. where they depend on the casual base to maintain the no lifers/whales, but to keep no lifers/whales engaged, they have to keep adding difficulty and content that further alienates the casual base. Theoretically either the casual base leaves and the whales leave as a result and the ggg loses their income, or they cater to the casuals so they don't have to relie on buying the whale's trash, the wales lose an important part of their gambling addiction enabling economy and leave, just like the first scenario. I guess that's why they're introducing certain quality of life decisions in poe 2 when they refused to for poe 1. it's because poe 2's primary function is an economic reset button, to be pressed when the current system becomes too unsustainable.

I ignored your post cause it isnt a valid argument.
Yes everything is completed very quickly even on SSF and HCSSF, mostly completed by people who may not even sleep for the first few days. SSF is more punishing then trade league by design, you cant argue against that as a fact.
How does one players view on the game invalidate anothers?

Just for perspective...
I try to play SSF as much as I can... except in trade league. By that I mean I minimize my trading to selling stuff that has value that I probably won't use even in standard. Storage space is limited and I really hate vendoring or trashing stuff that I know someone would pay a decent amount for.
I also do buy as needed, but do make an effort to use what I find first. But having run true ssf for a bit myself, I'm definitely aware of the frustration of trying to find those key items, especially early on.
If not for the SSF migration, we could probably see better drop rates. However, I'm not sure how well that would go over in the long run.
Yep, totally over league play.

Clearly shows the game is trivial at this point.
This has nothing to do with invalidating one statement or another, but with looking at actual facts.

Your argument is invalid because OP is sharing their feedback on the SSF mode mechanic. SSF is a bragging rights, more punishing system by design. It doesn't matter how trivial you feel the game is, that is exactly what it was made for.
Honestly there are lots of ways to increase the difficulty of POE, the fact that there are people who complete the game in days just means they are not even trying.

I only play ssf, and the main reason is because it feels like an RPG, not a slot machine. Trading mechanics are terrible, buying items from a website isn't fun to me.
I dont play SSF because I am a masochist as Chris Wilson has said it is for, I play it because it feels like a real game.
Trading is the problem, it needs to be much more limited. I would like to see deterministic crafting options that soulbind items, that would work for both ssf and trade league.
