Technical Support (Path of Exile 1) - Patching doesn't finish, speed drops to 0B/s, Timeout while downloading - Forum

Opened a bug-issue on launch-day per this thread https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/3266121/page/1 with the same issue. No respones from GGG either. However, installing a VPN and connecting to another network helped fix this issue for me. This happened to me as well. And I can confirm that downloading a free VPN fixes this. Note however: DO NOT UNINSTALL THE GAME. This appears to be some kind of server-side IP blacklisting, and your IP is still blacklisted even if you uninstall.
