Patching doesn't finish, speed drops to 0B/s, Timeout while downloading
I have been trying to patch for Sentinel for quite a few hours now. The process is unable to finish, because the speed drops to 0B/s. Closing and opening the client reveals roughly 16MB to be needed to finish the download and the download stops at roughly 14MB everytime, resetting back to 0MB every now and then to just go back up to roughly 14MB again. After a while i get the following error:
Error: Timeout was reached while downloading http://patchcdn.pathofexile.com/3.18.0.1/Bundles2/_Preload_1.bundle.bin During patching the same error had already occurred, but patching resumed after restarting PoE. This error can also be confirmed by looking at the log. I have tried without success: -running as Admin -restart the computer -clear PoE cash -making sure all folders associated are not read/write protected -delete configs -deleting the ggpk and redownloading this just results in the same error as noted above, requiring a restart of PoE to continue the download, overall ending in what i have described in the first paragraph -full removal and reinstallation, same result as deleting ggpk I have made sure: -drivers are up to date -internet connection is stable and Ethernet-Cable is fully functional -to check numerous other similar posts resulting in all the things i have tried above -to let PoE pass Windows-Firewall/Turn off all Anti-Virus related programs It seems there is something wrong with specifically that file, since everything else runs just fine. If you have had a similar issue or any idea what might be going wrong or if you need additional information, I'd appreciate your feedback. Edit1: I tried downloading the content.ggpk via the torrent in hopes of bypassing the download of the above mentioned file via the client, sadly to no avail, same issue with the speed dropping to 0B/s resulting in the same above mentioned error. Edit2: As pointed out by @Araiguma getting a VPN and connecting it before starting PoE fixes this issue for me aswell. Tyvm for the idea. I have the same problem. Still waiting for a fix. Edit: After redownloading and clearing the cache, the error vanished.

Same problem for me and my wife on two different computers.
Download is stuck at 13.92MB /15.94 MB - Deleted ggpk and redownloaded - Cache cleared - PackCheck after redownload: first run: a lot of desynced files second run: everything fine except Bundles2/_Preload_1.bundle.bin (... /Bundles2/_Preload_1.bundle.bin hash isn't in sync, repaired) - WinMTR: 0% loss to patchcdn.pathofexile.com When changing to https I am at least able to download the file in the browser while http still gives the timeout Last resort: Changed to SteamClient Last edited by Xtinction#2977 on May 14, 2022, 4:33:14 AM

I am having the exact same issue. Also with Bundles2/_Preload_1.bundle.bin that will not finish downdloading.
Edit: Deleting the cache and running PackCheck.exe multiple times did nothing to alleviate this problem. While packcheck appears to mark the _Preload1.bundle.bin appropriately as corrupted, it appears to do nothing to fix it. Last edited by Araiguma#2919 on May 14, 2022, 12:04:16 AM

Nothing has change, still getting the error message.

I fixed this by getting a free VPN (ProtonVPN in my case) and downloading the patch while connected.
This is almost certainly an issue with ISP caching, as using TLS will download the file with no issue. @GGG: I recommend giving us the option to switch to HTTPS/TLS for patch downloads, so people with fucky ISPs aren't randomly locked out of launch weekend. |
