" Made some simulations and this is what you need to sustain RF without Springleaf: With: - Both Body and Soul and Mind and Matter - 1% life regen node - No +life on gear - Capped fire resistance - Vitality 20 - Purity 20 - Discipline 20 - Nullification cluster - Inner Force - Calculated for around lvl 70. Requirements keep getting higher, as leveling increases max life. You need around 1270 base ES (for base ES, i mean the total ES provided by your Chest, Helm, Shield, Boots, Gloves and the non percentile portion provided by jewellery). Let's say that you have a Shav for around 500 ES, you will need 750 more ES from the rest of your gear. That means very good items on each slot. Inner Force does not make much of a difference. Without IF you would need around 20 less ES, so it's worth having it. If you add to it 5 ES nodes (half of those in the center of the tree) it takes 100 ES less to run RF. With all 10 nodes, it gets down to around 1050 base ES. Going for Troll's Blood + Elemental Adaptation is another viable choice for the cost of 10 Skill Points. It lowers the requirement of base ES to around 750, which is easily reachable even with mid gear (assuming 500 ES from Shav still). The Skill Point cost is pretty high, so it would be better to plan how much dps you'd gain by using those points for dps nodes, and see if you are not better off with Springleaf and those dps nodes instead (less gear dependent, may mean more room for IIQ/IIR, etc.). With a very good Spell Dmg shield you shouldn't be worrying about that tho. I hope this is useful to you ;) Bye EDIT: To go even further with the Troll's Blood choice, 10 SP spent for pure DPS, if you went for Nullification, could easily mean around 240% crit chance and 70% multiplier, or 20% spell dmg 5% shock chance 30 mana 185% crit chance and 60% multiplier. In fact, it opens up the whole shadow starting area and that's so hugely filled with good nodes... That means you must have a VERY VERY good shield (if it's even possible to reach that much dps on a shield, i did not check) as going for Troll's Blood gives absolutely no benefit other than the possibility to use a different shield. Of course, this depends on your current level, gear, already allocated passives etc. but even if viable, Troll's Blood path is not efficient until you already allocated all the relevant DPS nodes around. Then, maybe, there would be no other best option to spend those points (but still, i highly doubt you'd have 10 points left to spend ;) So my final verdict is: stick to your Springleaf until you can switch to Shav and very good ES gear. And don't forget about IIQ/IIR, that's the whole point here ;) Bye Last edited by ThePlash#0157 on Jun 17, 2013, 5:54:33 AM

That's very interesting, thank you so much! <3
Those 10 or 11 points are indeed a problem, a problem I could only solve by leveling up way past level 90. In other words, probably not very soon, given that I can't play 10+ hours a day for weeks. Since I don't have a shav yet, I'll go deeper inside the shadow skill tree and get that instead and get RF with springleaf then. I'd lose ~50% increased spell damage and gain ~90% more spell damage, so it should be very effective. Hello darkness my old friend..

i just went dual spork and was hoping ppl could help me with my build. since i'm low life anyway, i -think- redbeak should give me more damage than rf (also i'm pretty poor, spending an alch for 2xredbeak was a lot more feasible than getting moonsorrow+springleaf+rf gem)

i'm a newb so i'm not really sure how best to optimize my passives. or where to go from here, second nulification cluster, more crit, cast speed, ele damge in witch/templar/shadow areas? |

I just respeced my Dual Spork + Dual Curse build into this and I definitely see an increase in damage. I was wondering though, at what level should I stop leveling up these gems:
Spell totem Purity Clarity Vitality Discipline I noticed from the end game spell tree that STR will be 104, and DEX 54, give or take 10 depending on personal preference. I'm currently sitting on a total of 97 STR and 77 DEX with 1 point into both Agility and Might. I don't want to level up the Aura past a certain point, especially the one that requires a flat amount of mana since it will increase the mana required per level. My life is currently 616 and mana is 599. Let me bend your ear for a moment

" It depends on where you will go with your build. The blue gems should be able to go to 20 no problem. Spell totem also to 20. Dex is very limited in all builds and strength is too depending on your tree (i.e. path to trolls blood provides more strength). Look at what you have now, subtract any added dex or strength from gear to get your base dex. If you have a perandus Blazon you're likely keeping that forever so you can add those numbers in. That's your cap. Check the wiki or your gems as you level up to see your cap. Haste generally can't be leveled high at all. Vitality somewhere in the mid teens. You can always DeLevel a gem by vendor using the gem + scour. You'll see you'd get the same gem with 1 level lower back. " That's not correct. Redbeak is a good weapon until you find a good Spell Dmg + Cast Speed (and maybe crit) 1h, but it has nothing to do with RF. RF bonus is multiplicative, whether weapons give additive bonuses. You can check it easily: if the wording is "X increased damage" it's additive, "X more damage" is multiplicative. And multiplicative means you take the total damage you do with all the additive bonuses already summed up and you multiplicate it for that amount. As an example: Damage = (Base Damage * (Sum of additive bonuses)) * (RF More Damage) * (1.3 From Pain Attunement) So an high leveled RF with Inner Force simply doubles your damage output xD There's nothing that compares to it, and that's why it's so OP As for your build, it's pretty standard. It's good for the most parts, i'd take Prestidigitation because the Cast Speed is very good for just 1 point, also the Shock Chance under Static Blows. I'd also rework the nodes to reach Nullification. I think it's better to go for the 10 dex node and drop the 4% movement speed node, but that's me (i'm usually running with 3 quicksilvers so i don't need more MS). This is my Anarchy build for reference: http://www.pathofexile.com/passive-skill-tree/AAAAAgMAAuMHpQ5IES8RlhVQFvMabB0UHwImPCepKU8snCynLR8vnTbFOtg74UNjRKtG10myTdhVrlcrWPVZ81orXcZd8mBtZp5nvW0ZcFJw1XFNdhF7135Zfq9_xoFvghCCm4hri3qMdo0Zj0aPpo_6mZqaz5uhna6dxJ48oqOj8qcIpyu1BLb3tzHAGsBRwbTBxcHzw23Q0Ngk2t3djN3z37DgEuL344TkIuTs62PsGOw47m_3wfrS From there I will make some calcs as to whether go for Shadow Starting area (Spell Damage mostly, with Cast Speed) or crit nodes around the tree. I'll be reworking dps nodes at around lvl 83-85, to grab those that give more dps, based on the gear i'll have at that point. I'm confident I won't need anymore ES nodes too. I hope i'll be able to save some of those +30 nodes and that i won't need to spend them on resistances ever... Oh and btw, I'm running RF just with Springleaf, without Vitality nor the Life Regen node xD Bye Last edited by ThePlash#0157 on Jun 17, 2013, 5:53:25 PM

" Spell Totem - Max Purity - Max Clarity - Depends on your max health pool. I stopped at 18. Vitality - Near max if you don't want to use springleaf/rise of phoenix/trolls blood. Otherwise you would need very high ES gear. Discipline - Max Haste - I picked up 2x 30 dex nodes and stopped at level 19. 7% cast spd + 3% run spd is pretty good for 2 nodes. |

I know that dps will be better when I will level fork and haste. And of course better rings and ammulet, but with quantity and cast speed/dmg are very expensive. yestarday found this so I will have money to buy better jewelry. All hints will be appraised.
