Anybody Catch Anything Good Yet?

Tried fishing with a shadow. All I can say is that I'm disappointed. Being an int-dex character almost every single fish got away. It always gave me the message "Not enough strength".

I got pissed at fishing when i accidently catched a kraken near the waterfallcaves entrence, he took my fine selfcrafted rod away, i spend 4 exalts on it !!!

Guys,you can combine quivers and staves in the vendor screen to get some javelins that you can fish with.It's easier than other methods if you have enough DEX points,however there is a chance that you miss and lose them.

Guys I'd like some advice. I felt I knew a pretty lot about fishing (i'm in the industry irl) but as soon as I got past Merveil in chaos, it seemed like the difficulty went out of control.
So how did you guys make it ? Up to now I was focusing mostly on keeping all charges up between the trows, and was hoping the 12 keystones would be beneficial... It's just not enough, any suggestions that could make this build viable using only orbs of regrets ? (Used most respecs to get strenght nodes, as it was pointed it is the primary stat for this activity) Here's my build at early chaos (61), please help I don't want to trash it. | |

You mentioned keeping the charges up... sorry to inform you but the devs mentioned in an earlier thread that it is only endurance charges that affect your CPM (catches per minute). Frenzy and power charges do not affect CPM currently. You can verify this by going to your Character Panel 'C' while you have your pole equipped and going to the 'Charges' tab and then looking at the line that shows the % increase to catches for endurance charges. It was difficult to figure out how to infinitely keep endurance charges up (although there are a few ways to do it) while fishing but I will give one way: Get a level 1 enduring cry and temporal chains gem. Find a zone with zombies and a long stretch of water and kill all monsters surrounding your stretch that you want to fish. Then just train/kite the zombie along the shore/cliff as you fish off of it, keeping temporal chains on the zombie to slow him down, and using enduring cry on him to keep your endurance charges maxed. Little help?
I wanted to try fly fishing... supposed to get better catches using flies... but I can't find any chickens anywhere to harvest the feathers. Anyone know where the little buggers hang out? Rhoa apparently can't have their feathers harvested :( Kilts for Templars <tm> - Our mission is to replace the ancient Greek toga worn by the Templar with a kilt. It fits the theme of Wraeclast better, and it fits the voice of the Templar.

" THAT. I am so tired of unclear mechanics. HOLY WHAT ? I've spent hours and hours perfecting that build to learn that 2/3 of it is basically useless when it comes to fishing, witch is pretty much where you make or break your character. I can understand this is only closed beta and the devs. needing to adjust here and there. But making entire mechanics useless without giving any clear indication is plain wrong. You can't make my whole character useless without giving me a refound of my skill points. That's unfair. I swear pre 9.3 I saw a benefit from building that way. Then there was the wipe into legacy, respecced the same way because there was NOT A SINGLE LINE in the patch notes about the (non) effects of 2/3 of ALL charges on fishing. Sometimes I feel like this is all a huge trolling bait i'm biting on. (trolling was a navy term at the beginning). I'll take a look a D3, wich I had not planned, and give GGG time to make a couple of wipes before I come back. Cause hell this is a huge blow like.... my main going down. |
