Permanent Solo League?
No thanks, would kill the online community.

Actually it's one of the only ideas that will bring me back to PoE short of major problem fixes, likely many others in the same boat.
Leagues suck. Endgame maps suck. Desync is a real problem. Groups make the game trivial. Many cannot group (like myself who is afk too often). If I'm to "do it again", I'm doing it in a fresh league after problems are sorted out, till then I'd rather mow my lawn and farm anthills... I'm the Ps guy: Psomm, Pso, Psong, pso-on and pso-phorth.

" This. Please consider this league, GGG. In a very grind heavy game the death penalty equates to...more grinding.

" On the contrary, it seems as if it would bring back a lot of players who quit over the need to group in end-game content. It would be a lot harder than the default/hardcore leagues, because let's face it - it is MUCH easier to faceroll content in a 6-man party than in solo - And people usually flock to the easiest option. |

I quit PoE a few months ago and will return when they provide a permanent solo league.

Since I really dislike trading, I think a permanent solo league would be great!

This is how I play anyway and I'm 100% on board for no longer being penalized in ladders and such. Personally I consider zerging things with a group or using uber items you traded for rather than earned to be borderline cheating. I'd call it full out cheating except that the game doesn't merely allow it, it promotes it.
Solo league PLEASE? |

There is a thread on the suggestions forum, with roughly the same rules :

Plays on online game to play solo. Will never understand.
Guys.. you're all forgetting.. maps are not end game. They still have more of Act3 to release, and they even said they have plans for act4 although it will most likely be after 1.0 Give it a rest already. Find some friends. Get on skype/vent/teamspeak w/e. Play together.. its funner! You're all having map issues, so you should all be adding eachother on whatever league you play and group up! ITS WHAT THE INTERNET IS FOR. If GGG wanted to make a single player game, they would have. Just because you're all introverts. Doesn't mean they should cater to you. I agree a paid Solo league would be cool (I mean hey its your money) but cmon in all seriousness, the entire point of an arpg is basically a giant E-Peen flex. You show gear you find in chat, you show your friends your faceroll characters and even if you don't have friends you just log on to smash mobs. They have plenty of events in the meantime in the form of races that everyone can do if you're bored of your lvl 80+ char. This generation of gamers is rediculous. WANTWANTWANT. NOWNOWNOW. |

Kazzle,
A lot of us came from d2 which was a mostly solo game with some online elements. We came for the customization that D3 lacked, and for solo/HC play. The online is just copy protection stuff, everyone is doing it now, and we understand that for new games. We don't equate online with multiplayer. Honestly multiplayer is a minority interest. It exists for college and high school kids with lots of time and no obligations. IF I played multiplayer I'd be that guy stopping in the middle of a battle for no apparent reason because my wife asked me to do something for her, or my son needed me. I'd also be that guy who had to spend most of the week setting up the game, because all of my friends have different work schedules, kids of their own, etc . . . we can't simply say "we're gaming at X time for Y hours" anymore. If we can play together it's usually last minute, and always rushed between things, or on our one/two day(s) off. Even then if we can meet up it's usually with the kids, for a picnic, or a festival, or to play a board game together, with real people, in the real world. There is an entire generation of gamers out here who can't do multiplayer most of the time. What they can do is a few minutes here and there, a few deaths here and there, maybe quickly x'ing out of the game since it refuses to have a pause button . . . And those numbers are growing. Most of the gamers who are currently able to spend all that time and attention on a game will eventually get a job, full time school, a wife, a couple kids, etc . . . It's online only, not multiplayer only. The majority of gamers need it that way. Yes we can choose to play in a party, sometimes, when the stars are right, but most of the time we're loading up the game for a few minutes between running somewhere else for our hour or so of hardcore "ME" time (read me as in not with a group, the family, etc). Nobody is saying get rid of your multiplayer option. We just saying it's not the core of the game and we'd like to have our own corner to compare our own scores without the much easier multiplayer experience hiding our skills and detracting from our needs. It's not "introverts" who need solo, an introvert sitting all day online can hook up with online friends. It's those of us with friends, activities, jobs, school, family, kids, etc . . . who have too much of a life to coordinate online and set aside huge blocks of time to focus solely on supporting a group of people who aren't there.
