Hey Terrex,
just wanted to give some feedback and ty for the very detailed guide. My EK Shadow is my first Char in this game to reach lvl65 completely done with self-found gear. I followed your progress Build but went into the more defensive ALT with Ghost reaver later and everything went fine and i never even skilled any life or res nodes. When i was around 1300 ES (including discipline) i went on and put my points into CI and it worked absolutely fine at this point - think it was around lvl59 and i've been farming fellshrine since then and progressed into Act3 yesterday. As i am still completely self-found i encountered my first major challenge at piety in the crematorium act3 (3% lightning res... no way to ever kill her :D) I think what rly helped me much was investing into good flasks when i hit lvl53 i build 1 mana flask with "dispells frozen" and "Recharge 1 charge on crit" and a granite with 99% armor (yay dat roll) and recharge on crit. The Granite seems like a must have atm with my 2k ES as any white archer pack could possibly insta kill me if i get stunned from 1 shot :D I never rly encountered bad manaproblems, as i ran clarity till lvl ~55 and allways had 3 mana flasks on me, i also got rly lucky with a quality manaleech drop, so i guess that might have helped too. After all this guide took me very far without ever worrying about trading. So thanks for all the work you've put into it. Cheers, J1 |

" Heyy, thanks for sharing and for the feedback. Glad to hear you progressed quite well without much trouble. Piety merciless just does a ton of damage, if you need the extra light res for her a flask might do it. Flasks can be so helpful and overlooked. An armour flask for the phys damage / ranged phys damage enemies is amazing. For this build phys damage will always be the harshest from lack of armour so a good granite helps out in many situations. Quality mana leech is the best support for quality, the faster speed leech cannot be matched. Grats on the nice find too. :P Always appreciate these posts and it's nice to help out and contribute to a good games community. " These are cheap and may fix all mana problems. If you want a pair let me know. If mana problems still insist, you may be able to get a ring, amulet or hopefully another type of 30-50% mana increase item. Any spell damage / crit / multiplier / cast is nice on a weapon. What you get is just preference. I go for cast speed, daggers generally have more crit and wands cast speed.

" It's definitely great for a start. :) Sexy spell + crit is always great. Some prefer more crit for the sexy crunches more often, just gotta watch out for the reflect crits though. |

Since terrex helped me A LOT! ingame and i can't return the favor (cuz hes around 20 lv higher than me and has way better gear lol) i'm trying to help you guys out who'll follow this guid.

For a crit based CI, what is your stance about taking Ghost reaver + vaal pact. Should keep oneself safe from reflect with a life leech gem, right?

" I'd think so unless you do more damage then it leeches back to yourself. If I ever get a 6th link I am going to get those two to test out and throw on life leech. This should work unless your EK crit instantly kills you without the leech giving enough es back. If it does work out, shouldn't have much to worry about other then desync / running into too many monsters. Don't take my word for it now that ghost reaver + vaal pact will keep you alive on a crit reflect though, personally never tested the combo.
