1.1UPDATED- ETHEREAL KNIVES CRIT & MAP GUIDE - ES TANK w/ CHAOS INOC- LVLING INFO + PASSIVES + VIDS

I'm at act 2 at the moment, there were tough moments and even "oh sh*t" moments (and well, there were "you are dead" moments aswell :D).

Well, it's a complete different playstyle (at least for me, already played LA ranger, Leap slam Duelist, Dual wield ele templar - with all those chars/builds it was like Facerolling or stand 100m away and smash out your Lightning arrow and go loot, now i have to manage all the stuff, totem, zombies, curses, auras, mana/HP management, so i have to learn it, but the OP helped me A LOT! and i guess he still will :D).

Rerolled yesterday and now i'm level 44 @ act2/cruel.
I have solo'd most of the bosses (zombies, skeletons, bear traps) but for kraityn i needed help (thx @OP :D).

Maybe a small tip:
For bosses i'm using bear traps with culling strike, its pretty awesome zombies/skeletons tanking the boss and you throw the traps and kite a bit, for me it works :)

So, this char/build is definitely NOT facetanking all the mobs, roll your face over your keyboard and go loot.

At the beginning ('till level 15-20) i got so MANY problems, mana problems, died so much etc. Then i managed a lot, gems, mana, items/equip, and especially PLAYSTYLE.
This char/build makes so much fun and i guess this one will be my highest char (LA ranger is lv 50).

For the shortness: Thanks @OP for this guide, for your help and for bringing me into this char/build :) (can't wait to hit 50 if you know what i mean, hehe :P).

So guys, read this if you got problems or need help, ask the OP and at the lower levels i'm maybe able to help you too :)

Thx for this post. It definitely can be harder to get the low level gear if it is your first character or just in general. I am trying to help out keeping the OP updated with some stuff but it doesn't drop too often. If you are struggling at message me and I will see what I can do to help out. EK scales so good later on that only a few supports or a couple decent items really pull through.

Early on hp/es is great but once you get higher level and have ES passives / INT only the ES from gear will be beneficial from scaling. If you are leveling a few really good ES pieces will make it much easier but can be harder to obtain.

i died to a mob in act 3 sewer that teleport and do a discharge. i met a rare and his run speed is too fast for me to handle. i got low hp so it basically 2 shotted me. only played on hardcore so maybe i'll try to get more hp nodes along the way then convert to es later on.

Ahh. If you are playing HC you might want to rush the ES nodes. I'm not a HC player and this build isn't tuned for HC in the least. It's a map farming / iiq iir. EK doesn't require much gear or supports so it gives a lot of freedom to stack IIQ IIR to do maps. That kind of is the point to this guide for a farming character. I really have no interest in HC so I can't say much on what to do to this build to make it better for HC. HC you need to build are survivability from the start. If you get good with totem, summons, curse then most builds should be viable.

As for what killed you.. Certain areas throughout the game are a lot more challenging then others and you have to see what's in front of you and adapt to the situation. This build may not be the best for survivability from the start but with a couple of skills / tactics it makes a big difference in the level of difficulty. Drop totem in front to see what monsters run to it, use temporal on everything to really handicap monsters.

Im level 50 on this build but suck pretty bad at the moment. I cast slow, run out of mana constantly, die easily. my DPS is at 1.3K

I probably just need way better gear but to broke at the moment to get anything I see in trade chat.

Farm cruel docks. Easy monsters there that shouldn't give you much trouble. Post your gear if you can. Shouldn't be having mana problems with clarity and mana leech. What is all on your link?
