The Easiest of the Easy Beginner Build Guides [1.1 SotV UPDATED]

Heyya ziggy. :) Was watching your stream last night and helping you out with the Blood Magic/LA build and thought about it some more. Here's a build that I came up with that's rather similar to yours, but a few changes:

Couple of differences for this one compared to yours:

1. This one doesn't take Unwavering Stance and instead goes through HotO to reach Ballistic Mastery. I know you're quite big on US since it synergizes well with Iron Reflexes, but I find that as a ranged character you're not quite a dependent on stun protection as compared to melee and the extra life regen can make a difference.

2. There is no Blood Magic keystone in this one, though easy enough to assume you take it and then eventually spec out of it later on once you get your LGoH/BM gem combo in a 5L armor/bow.

3. This one, like Jwindu's build, takes the Heavy Draw cluster and offers around 248% life along with the extra damage. It does sacrifice one frenzy charge, but considering you'd still be rocking 5 charges overall, I'd say that's a fair tradeoff for more consistent damage all the time compared to just a boost to Frenzy alone.

4. I didn't take the 8% IAS node and instead took the 0.2% life regen per Endurance Charge node, but that can easily be changed around, and a few other life nodes can be switched around for a little flexibility. Can pick up a few extra projectile damage nodes, or if short on intelligence for curses like EW or Enfeeble, then you can pick up the Elementalist notable in the Templar tree.

5. Like your build, this one still offers other flexible choices like taking the Diamond Flesh node for resists, or if you're pushing to 90 and perhaps want to try out an Alpha's Howl helm, then you could potentially get 3 auras squeezed in on mana by taking the Sovereignty cluster in the Templar area.

There are a couple more points to it, but overall I think it's a nice alternative, and potentially a bit more point efficient than your build, but that's just my honest take on it from my perspective. :) Hope it helps!
I've been using this build and I'm really liking it. But I just had a question about curses now that I have the INT to use more than one.

First off, would it be a good idea to get Whispers of Doom later on in the tree?

And second, does anyone have any guidelines to follow for which curse to use at which times? Right now I have Projectile Weakness, Enfeeble, and Conductivity equipped, but I don't know what to use each of them for.
just wanted to say ty for all ur vids ima huge supporter keep making them mate

Whispers of Doom is really not worth it for this type of build as it's not a curse-reliant build. Plus, it's rather a big waste of points just to travel that far into the int portion of the tree and get very little out of it in return. As far as which curses to use at what times, that will generally depend, but here are some guidelines:

1. If you're going for Chain in this build, then you DO NOT want to Projectile Weakness. PW adds a piercing chance to the projectiles and if a projectile pierces, then it cannot Chain. There is an order for this: Pierce > Fork > Chain...that means if a projectile can pierce it will neither Fork nor Chain and if a projectile can Fork then it will not Chain. That's the priority that the game always goes by when it comes to this. In essence, you're just wasting damage and extra mana/life cost with the Chain gem. Only use Projectile Weakness if you're NOT using the Fork or Chain gem.

2. Enfeeble should be used when you're wanting to reduce damage from harder hitting mobs and that will generally depend on what your build can handle. If you find as you're running through an area/map that a particular group of monsters consistently hits you hard, then use Enfeeble against them and forgo extra attack damage. Survivability is better since a few extra seconds to kill a pack of mobs is well worth the delay over hours or more of lost experience.

3. Conductivity is best used when you're soloing as this means you'll normally gain extra lightning damage from the mobs you're attacking. Also, a quality Conductivity adds an additional 10% chance to shock at max quality along with (I believe) increased shock duration, which you want to ensure shocks are stacked. If you're in a party, it's better to run Elemental Weakness as it's more party friendly and covers a wider range of bases rather than sticking to Conductivity .

I'm currently Level 39 and only have 4 Socket Items. I noticed that Lightning Arrow does not have any Life Gems until the 5th socket (Life Gain on Hit), While Frenzy has Life Leech as its 3rd Socket. When I'm using Frenzy against single target I have no problem, but when I start to use Lightning Arrow against mobs my health keeps dropping with no life regen, Any advice? Thoughts ? Missing Something?

2 Options:

1. Drop damage by changing one of your 3 support gems of LA to Life gain on hit - that's what I did and it works out great: Basically, unless they oneshot and/or shockstack me or cast multiple lightning thorns, I can't die against packs. I was also lucky enough to find a quality lgoh early on, which makes a big differents at the early levels, so I figured I'd use it.

2. Kite mobs whenever you are using Lightning Arrow: Dodge Projectiles if you can and dont let melee mobs run up to you. Use quicksilver Flasks and try getting boots with 20%+ movespeed on them.

I prefer facetanking stuff if I can, so option 1 was for me. You will do more damage with 2. (since you have another damage support), but you might loose some again for not hitting mobs constantly since you are kiting. Choose what you like best.

I'd add LGOH much earlier. Even in a three link I would have it. I think you'll find that it makes this build a _lot_ better at the level you're at. As long as you have a pack to shoot you're close to unkillable.

Edit: Ninja'd

Would GMP be better than LMP?

Why dosen't this build grab berzerking?

here is my changes, has about 200% life, not a whole lot.

After 100 pts, you can get more life from temp, ele adapt, and the leather/armor node in duelist.

Updated OP! Will post a video for passive tree progression route pretty soon!

Thank You Sir
How important are Static Blows and Resolute Technique? I will save 15 nodes by omitting them

I prefer to invest them going up through Prowess, Ferocity, Conditioning and Coordination cluster (+1 extra Frenzy charge, 12% life, 4% move speed, 3% attack speed, +50str, +20 dex) - 10 points total
Then spend 7 points for Talons of Murder cluster (+50% accuracy, 42% dmg, 20% crit, 12% life)
I like the (free) 3p Piercing Shot cluster, without taking Piercing Shot itself: 30% dmg, 25% crit. It is a better trade for Golem Blood that I skip, 3p for 16% life and 1.5% life regen
I can't miss the Heavy Draw cluster too, for 7 points I get 48% dmg and 16% life
While I am there, I love the extra 8% movement speed from Celeriy for a single travel point extra

Here is my build so far:

Any comment is welcome
