[REMOVED!] You wanted to buy Beta keys - here's an official charity auction!

I'd pay $20 for a beta key : )
Why not start a thread here for the bidding with a closing time announced? Then at the closing, you locked the thread and start counting the 10 highest bids for the keys. PM the winners to pay you via paypal before you release the keys to them.
I prefer the lotto, sorry Chris :>
I am the greatest

I doubt that would ever work, it would get trolled so bad.

People would post crazy bids or make fake accounts to bid just to be morons.

You get that if it is a giveaway. But when it comes to bidding with money, I doubt you will get 50 pages of bids. The quantum of your bid determines the winning, not the number of different bids so I can't see any use of multiple fake accounts. Perhaps to deter frivolous bidding, a meaningful minimum bid can be set, say, $10. And the bid process can be limited to say 12 or 18 hours or even shorter. It can work.

What i mean is whats to stop someone from making a account and saying they would pay 300 bucks then never coming back? I realize in that case you just go down the list and get the highest bids people will pay but it just seems like a lot of work for the developers.

Im all for this type of thing if it doesn't become a pain in the ass and a forum post for bidding certainly would be.

or simply create a "bid-account". every user who wants to purchase a key pm´s his bid (in this format for example "$ 10.00") and nothin else to this account.

so you can easy export em in a excel sheet and sort em by bids.
additionaly, the bids where anonymous and users are not able to overbid in the last seconds of the auction.
