Chrome Extension to detect recipes in your inventory

Love the new update, so must easier to see Regal Orb recipes :)

I'm late to this party, but let me just say, the alchemy orb recipe recognition in the extension has seen me buy at least 5 new stash tabs in the past few days and I'm keeping *every* rare I get in the hopes of another 'memory' like match.

Ruhroh, it's a slippery slope you travel. next you'll have 40 full tabs of junk and you'll just buy a couple more because it's easier than cleaning out the others...

I haven't read the entire thread (rare for me, but there you go), so I don't know if this has been suggested or not: might a future npc in the encampments be able to play the same role as this extension? I won't speculate on the specifics such as name and justification -- just a query if GGG couldn't put someone in the game who would read your stash and tell you what recipes you have available.

I think a more IC type thing would be if the various vendors each had specific recipes and some dialog so you could ask them about what they want to trade for.

My vote is still for a recipe style like the potion recipes in Skyrim. You have "ingredients", you sell them to the vendor. As new recipes are discovered, they're displayed in some form. Something like what items you need to give to use the recipe, perhaps with the actual items in your inventory that would work with the recipe.

Something intuitive like that would work wonders and not give away the actual recipes until you've discovered them. For those that want to "cheat", they'll obviously be well documented on the forums, for those that want to learn, the surprise won't be spoiled.

Both ideas work, but I have to admit I'm mostly hung up on the alchemy name-matching game. Maybe a search function of the stash? I'm praying for more visual recognition of things like skill gems (trying to find one flicker strike in a sea of green is a bitch!), but that wouldn't help with the name-matching...
https://linktr.ee/wjameschan -- everything I've ever done worth talking about, and even that is debatable.
so what does this mean? none of these items have matching names.

It means if you put all that junk in the vendor and add a pair of rare rings and a rare amulet you'd get a chaos orb for your trouble. that recipe hasn't got anything to do with matching names. it's more a one of everything kind of deal.

Yes I was on the latest version. I couldn't even force a reload as it would get stuck on the "loading" part whenever I would start it. I just removed it from chrome and reinstalled it and it works again. Was wierd because I had JUST used it about 30 minutes before posting that it wasn't working. And then nothing would make it work so I figured I would reinstall it. I had left it on "Loading" for about an hour hoping maybe it was just slow on retrieving data.

I've pushed an update (version 0.44) with a bit of missing error handling added. Now if any errors occur during loading for whatever reason you should be able to do a complete refresh.

doing a full refresh will reset your local database completely which should be as good as uninstalling/reinstalling.

let me know if anyone still has any issues once yer on 0.44+

One slightly odd thing I noticed with 0.44 (but cant say if its 'new' - dont expect it): The recipe to make an Augmentation Orb from 3 different types of same item lists only a missing part, and this for items I definitive have (example: Missing Ruby Ring with rarities: magical)
Sadly, cant imagine a suggestion how I'd expect it to handle it, but will think about it.

I think that one might of been broken for a while, can't say i've ever used it. but i have noticed it looking odd when i've flicked through the pages. the whole crafting section might need some rewriting when the PoE website is updated so i'm not really too concerned at this stage.

Thats kind of what I've expected. I also just have seen it on a wild click test across the options, not really tried to use the recipe.

Maybe, just disable the feature until its updated, to prevent confusing others?
