VIDEO GUIDE ~~';..;'~~-|===> Elmo's 2H Lightning Stick VER.2 UPDATED! 10k-69kDPS CONFIMRED

Version 2, UPDATED MARCH 25 USE THIS VERSION NOT VERSION 1

Things to note:
296% life now (requested so Kaoms isn't mandatory but still OP)
10,500DPS - 69,500 CONFIRMED DPS ranging on variables (see video 2 for explanation)
11,000 ARMOR - Video 5 For proof/how to

Hey everyone, 2 80+ characters later, and through about 60-100 regrets in finessing and tinkering, I believe I have come up with a very nice 2h build.

History: Using the new duelist tree I tried to make a dual wield build, so I went ahead and used the infamous cleve, and i tried cyclone, neither seemed to be what I wanted as I do not like cleve's range and cyclone wasn't my cup of tea. (NOTE: YOU WILL NEED 3-4% MANA LEECH FROM GEAR, LOOK AT MY GEAR POSTED FOR EXAMPLE)

What I had to overcome to make this build work:
During the many hours, and one hundred + regrets I spent, I tested various nodes and multiple setups to get the most efficiency and sustainability I think is possible while using a 2H.

Pros:
Massive DPS
Very fun and unique feeling
Insane Attacks Per second (I'm at 4.2 on my lightning strike)
Infinite Mana
260% HP
11kk armor with kaoms on
80% all res
Get to run % based Auras
currently at 7k hp (will be at 9k-10k)
Stay out of range of attacks
Huge single target damage
I'm running decent magic find 120/65 (of course gear dependent)
Smash through every map with ease, all while listen to red hot chilli peppers of course.

Cons:
Very gear dependent
Need Mana leech gear (or 6L)
Need high Quality % gems (Lightning strike must be at 20% due to its pierce additive, and other help too)
You will need one of these

:::::::::LETS TALK ABOUT DAMAGE:::::::::::
The staple of our damage on this build comes from scaling physical %, the more physical bonuses we have, the more damage our hatred, lightning, and added fire gem will do.

:::::::::LETS TALK ABOUT WHAT WEAPON TO USE:::::::::::
This is quite simple, High physical damage with high attacks per second (look at my sword for example)

Okay so first I will talk about skills.
I will paste gear to make it easier.
Spoiler

Single target:
Our single target is meant purely for monsters we need to melt down fast while sustaining damage, our regen will keep us alive while monsters beat on us.
-------Double Strike + Faster Attacks + Weapon Physical Damage + Life Leech--------

AOE:5-6L
Our AOE is sit back and face roll mobs, and yes it is that simple.
-------Lightning Strike + Melee Physical Damage + Weapon Elemental Damage + Added Fire Damage + Faster Attacks--------- 6th link would be mana leech

Curse: conductivity

Auras: Determination(CORE), Hatred(CORE), Anger, Clarity(CORE).

::::::::::::::::::::::2h VS Dual Wield:::::::::::::::::::::
the pros and cons would be as follows.

---2H---
PROS:
6L
Substantially more DPS towards late game weapons
More valuable skill tree nodes (takes less points to see same results)
Double strike better for life leech gem
Better AOE skill support due to 5-6L

CONS:
Hard to find something with high APS and DPS, most sellers understand this and wont sell them for cheap, so you are limited to trying to buy a reaver swords with IAS + pure phys.

---1H DW---
PROS:
Attacks per second
Large variety of weapons
Natural 15% block while dual wielding

Cons:
Never will have a 6L if you run Kaoms
If you wanna run a kaoms you have to be ok with using a 4L only, this has major disadvantages such as an unreliable AOE. This will in turn effect you in higher level maps as if you run kaoms and DW you might run into issues not being able to clear or dying often due to lack of a good AOE.
Less late game dps then 2H
Less valuable skill tree nodes (takes more points to see same results)
Due to lack of proper 5-6L AOE you will need to invest a substantial amount of nodes(10) into getting block% while dual wielding due to the fact you must use a close range skill like cleve which you must add a life gain on hit gem too, so your limited to a 4L with 2 predetermined gems(life gain on hit + cleve), so no real damage.

Some Questions people may ask:
Q: Why the mana nodes, Specifically why the reduced % to skill cost?
A: we no longer run mana nodes, a more effecient build has been created

Q: Is koams really necessary?
A: No, you many use a 5-6L Chest of any type. I feel the need for the additional HP as a safety blanket. I am also biased towards koams because I love it. Another factor is I maxed my resists through gear so the benefits of koams for me was huge, if you cannot get your resists maxed on the pieces you wear then don't run a koams.

Q: Do I have to run MF?
A: IMO, yes MF will help pay for the cost of this build, because getting the gear will be a financial challenge.(NOTE: look at my gear above to get an idea, most pieces were many exalts)

Q: Do I really need 4% mana leech?
A: It's what I use, scale down or up accordingly to keep your mana pool infinite for lightning strike.

Q: Is this build boring?
A: No i rate this a 10/10 for fun factor

Really nice build, however extremely expensive :)
It's not so bad tbh, Its always a juggling act between this or that.

Like the mana leech gear albeit mayb be expensive, with 3% it is sustainable, and at 4% mana leech you will never run out. Mana leech gem give 3% so this is very realistic.

And you dont have to have kaoms, it is like any other build, the more links you have on your skills the more viable and strong they become.

As far as i see you've got very few hp nodes collected - 6k with kaom's isn't a lot. Imo without kaom's this build is useless.

I have 7k hp atm, you don't need more then that tbh. Just because some classes "CAN" get 10k hp with a kaoms, doesn't mean all builds have to use it.

There is more life nodes towards the end of the build, this is meant to be high damage while having very good sustainability(hybrid of tank + dps for duelists)

Towards the end rounding out around lvl 85-90 there is 226% in HP nodes, please tell me how that isn't enough?

I have 7k at lvl 76 with my next nodes rounding off an additional 58%.

226% while having massive dps seems good to me

I completely agree, but just be aware that normal player leveling up his char can't afford kaom's, and with such low number of nodes on 70~ lvl he will struggle with survivability, just my thoughts.

Of course, this is heavily weighted into late game for people who can afford to run the setup.
This is a unique setup that is an absorbent amount of hybrid dps + survivability.

There is currently a lack of late game builds atm, leveling shouldn't be a factor for this picking a guide..... use poison with a +1 to gem bow to lvl up to 65.... I did it on this duelist with a lvl 5 bow i found in act 1 of normal and used poison arrow + lmp until 65.

My bankroll came from another character which I had already had a kaosm on, KAOMS IS NOT A STAPLE OR A REQUIREMENT, it is merely something to strive towards end game to tie this build together perfectly.

This build can still be run without KAOMS since it has 226% life. The benefit to this build is it doesn't scale down late game, and only scales positively the better the gear you get.

Most build are either heavily geared towards leveling or towards post map scaling. this accomplishes both while scaling very very positively late game
I am trying this build, with some small changes, for bandit rewards i did
Norm: +40hp
Cruel: +1 Passive
Merc +1 Passive

Was curious on what you did for this build?

I did 8% all res, 12% phys, 1 skill point.

The 12% i would highly recommend as it takes 1.5 skill tree points to get this type of benefit.
Cool, thank you its to late for Normal mode for me, i took the +40 hp. but im not worried about res i can get those. but you make a good point about the 12% physical dmg

thanks. having a blast with this build so far
