The best measure I can have is "feel" and a stopwatch. I know I am mapping faster now, I know some bosses are melting faster. I know the only problem I have are those immortal totems because I have to find it (no pierce), but I also know I don't have to deal with proximity bubbles. This game is all about tradeoffs, what matches me doesn't match someone else.
To me the biggest plus is i can spawn skeletons, and then i can run away and focus on not dying to stupid crap like degens or boss attacks. I just did a map while I was on a conference call. lol

You can test with say a T16 map. I got a cheap 2 duration armor and 700k per skeleton, bosses STILL don't seem to go down faster than Herald of Agony with 3-4 million damage.

I'm not sure if its his configuration or what, but the DPS on that phys build he's running is half of what mine is with hatred.

If I get some good lag free play I'll try to record some boss kills.

I played around with PoB today testing reservation helms like he has, I came to the conclusion that skeleton damage enchant is better (DPS gain from helm was about 70k per skeleton, adding discipline reduction and adding a banner was about 40k less per).

Also, an AG update. I may re-buy gear and try again. I know the patch changed/removed some metamorph abilities. I believe they removed the one that shotgunned me and killed my AG.

*drooling over the chest he mentions, +1 skills +2 duration* too bad I don't run any green sockets.


What I am trying to say is, I actually bought the +2 duration armor and played the 700K per skeleton build. And my boss damage still felt lack luster with all 11 skeletons attacking. I event went multistrike instead of melee splash.

On paper it is 8 million vs 4 million, in practice Herald of Agony kills faster.

I will do two white map minotaurs and post the POB / video later.

I had one of mine die on something, think it might've been a super juiced t16 Meta prepatch and since I was at maximum distance because it was doing piles of damage, I guess it died from that, other than that have never lost one. Hence it took me a few mins to even notice 1 had died lol

How do you guys deal with gem swapping? I mean swapping Pierce -> Vicious projectiles and Poacher's mark -> projectile weakness against tough bosses. Do you just keep these gems in your inventory? I'm asking this because I just got awakened vicious projectiles that I would like to level up aswell, so I have it on my weapon swap and obviously if I swap weapons, all my spectres disappear since they are socketed into the shield..

Oh and by the way, if someone could help me with spectres I would greatly appreciate it! I've been delving in +200 depth for ever but haven't seen Primeval Fortress or Primeval Chamber.. My in-game in @PantlessProject
why do you have 11 skeletons, shouldn't you have 12? I have 12 at lvl 31 skeletons. check out my pob. it's a little out of date but I now have a +1 amulet instead of the astramentis. I can get lvl 33 skeletons if I can ever afford/find a +2 socketed +2 duration armor. +2 duration armor is suboptimal because all the supports are not leveled. +2 socketed in color is better than +2 duration, since +1 socketed results in +2 to skeleton gem anyways (empower, plus natural +1 to skeeletons), and all supports get upgraded. The best is the armor I mentioned, +2 socketed, +2 duration

I'm also running melee splash because i'm lazy to change to multistrike. maybe I will try multistrike for mapping and see how it is. my skeletons explode packs. Anyways, I'm pretty sure my tree and your tree differs significantly.

pierce and vp have different mana multipliers, you can't just swap them without changing auras

Yeah I know, I just have more unreserved mana when running pierce (which obviously isn't good but it's the best solution I've come up with). Do people who run only 2G sockets on their chest just skip pierce entirely and use vicious projectiles for everything?

Hello right now im using that gem swapping only for sirus or if i want to kill a conqueror in less than 15 segs, but i use normal vicious projectile (in inventory at max level), my awakened gem is still lvl 1 and gaining exp in my weapon swap... but you can use weapon swap in a city and dont losse the spectres

no most people use pierce and just don't gem swap. once you get endgame gear the dps is fine without it. elderslayers are dying in a few seconds anyway so don't see the point of it, it's just more hassle
Ah I see, ty for replies! I guess I could just sell the awakened vicious projectiles, buy normal max level one and keep that in my inventory so I can use it against sirus/shaper etc.

I'm really interested in the skeleton version aswell, has anyone running it managed to record any videos yet?

Quick question about the spectres. I don't have found Primeval Fortress or Primeval Chamber yet.

So i try to use the Towering Figment from Act 4. But those are only level 38 and since you can't summon them with desecrate for some reason, is there a way to raise high level figments? The usual trick would be going to delve lvl 83 and spam desecrate till they spawn, but that never happend to me.
