Hi all
Just wanted to share my vaal skeletons update.

https://pastebin.com/iSC3XHHA

Again, i don't know how to configure POB to show the true damage, but I can tell you that most content is a joke. My playstyle is to shield dash, cast summon skeletons, then move on to the next pack. I don't really do anything other than pick up currency. I do so much damage I don't flask for anything but bosses. I also pretty much never use any of the vaal skills except vaal summon skeleton for bosses

I'm running pride, discipline, clarity ( no watchers yet unfortunately ), skitterbots, dread banner

i also am using the animated guardian variant with 2 flayers, 2 carnage chieftains

my skeletons are at lvl 30, animated guardian/spectres at 26, golem at 22

I am using the full physical build, no more hatred or EE.

If someone wants to help me buy this ridiculously expensive 60ex skin of the loyal with +1 socketed +2 duration with the colors I use i would greatly appreciate it LOL

besides that armor upgrade, I could also use a rare +1 int amulet. Those two upgrades should take me to lvl 33 skellies! WOW

I have 15k es without watchers.

other key differences
1. shield charge. I use spiritual command so minion atk spd+ now makes me zoom zoom
2. tree changes, dropped the tempered spirit on the right side to get 8 nodes back. Instead got spiritual command, sacrifice, righteous army, and hopefully redemption after i hit 98
3. jewel changes -- no tempered spirit or golden rule, i use from dust/to dust now but these are now "quality of life" jewels as opposed to dmg/es
4. ascendancy changes -- time of need, bastion of hope, radiant crusade, radiant faith. unwavering crusade isn't needed anymore because I use a watchers with spell block when discipline, intimidate on hit when pride

other thoughts
1. I could probably hit 75% spell block if I went back to rainbowstrides but I'm too lazy to change my ring for more resistances. If I get more res on my upcoming amulet, maybe I could do it. I would risk being chilled/frozen but that's just a flask change.. I like the ailment immunity because i'm super lazy and i hate flasking.
2. likewise i could probably get more ES with a new rare belt as well but I'm not really dying to anything at the ES that I'm at
3. as I level up my minion gems, I can probably reduce the number of minion life nodes I took to deal with durability problems and switch it over to more ES and DPS again
4. physical reflect maps suck, but are doable with the same playstyle. just need to cast summon skeletons more often

Do you really feel your single target boss damage is significantly better than Herald of Agony?

You can test with say a T16 map. I got a cheap 2 duration armor and 700k per skeleton, bosses STILL don't seem to go down faster than Herald of Agony with 3-4 million damage.

Maybe we can do a white map test to be accurate.

I've still got quite a few exalts so i'm upgrading my gear here and there when I get good deals. What would I craft on a belt/amulet? Just looking for the ideal stats to go for. Figured i'd keep on the lookout for it since i've got all my resists from boots/ring.

how do you like that?

projectile speed is absolute awful. you have to meta craft it.

craft prefixes cannot be changed, scour, multimod minion attack speed and trigger. total cost is like 4ex. do that and you have a 30ex+ weapon. i have all the crafts if you need some help

Hello,

First of all, nice guide. This is the build I’ve been looking for since day 1: lazy and tanky

I have a few questions:
What about boots and gloves enchantments?
Why hatred and not another dps aura (anger, precision)? Is the damage way better?
Bastion of hope seems so much better than time of need, am I missing something? Or is it because I use an anti-curse flask
Is Golden Rule that useful, or more quality of life? I feel like I’m always at max stack during fights
Which other class could support this build?
Any other affix could be useful on Watcher’s eye? The mana to ES cost 40 exalted, way too much for a casual like me

TY

in terms of amulet, you can actually craft something pretty insane for a physical build. you need a hunters amulet with +1 intelligence gems and no other hunter mods. a warlord amulet with pride reservation and no other warlord mods. combine the two with an awakener's orb and you have a +1 amulet with 25% pride reservation. which is pretty fucking huge because you can change annointment and drop charisma, or take a different helm enchant. dread banner aura effect is decent, flesh offering attack speed, skeleton dmg, etc etc.

wow that's interesting. i have no idea about the awakener orb stuff so that's really cool
I bought a +1 int amulet with 40 to all attr so i'll be running that now. lvl 31 skellies. Lost about 1k es, down to 14343 ES . Might play with the tree a bit to get some more ES back but i don't think I need it. at this point it feels like real luxury messing around
Yes, boss fights are faster.

700k X 12 skeletons = 8.4 mil dps
+ 40 skeletons from vaal skeleton at 300k dps? = 12 mil dps

I also have a lot of physical pen

don't go by POB, for Hoag again, you need to go off of average virulence stacks to get true DPS. putting 40 in there is unreasonable because 40 immediately decays to 38 or so. 35 in a single target situation is probably more realistic.

I'm not sure if its his configuration or what, but the DPS on that phys build he's running is half of what mine is with hatred.

If I get some good lag free play I'll try to record some boss kills.

I played around with PoB today testing reservation helms like he has, I came to the conclusion that skeleton damage enchant is better (DPS gain from helm was about 70k per skeleton, adding discipline reduction and adding a banner was about 40k less per).

Also, an AG update. I may re-buy gear and try again. I know the patch changed/removed some metamorph abilities. I believe they removed the one that shotgunned me and killed my AG.

*drooling over the chest he mentions, +1 skills +2 duration* too bad I don't run any green sockets.

Stupid question, how do you keep your spectres alive? Do i miss something, i cant see any minion life regen or something like that.

Look at the shield. Specifically the mod at the bottom ;)

Also, I am not convinced anything except taking a 1 minute nap in Sirus' storms could kill the delve spectres, even without that mod on the shield.
A popular option near the +1 Spectre node is going on the right side for 1% minion regen, instead of damage.

Stoneskin flayers can hit 200k life (not everyone, but should be over 150k), 5% regen if you blocked recently is massive. You should be using some sort of movement skill/quicksilver flask and convocating often for positioning/onslaught uptime. That also gives respectable regen.

That's not much of an exaggeration, excepting HoGM. Hall of Grandmasters melts minions, yes including stoneskin flayers.

I've done a respectable number of T14-T16 maps with max metamorphs and rippy mods, never saw a stoneskin flayer below 80%. I don't have that constant 1% regen, but I convocate often. Also I can attack and spell block to cap of 75% with Rumi's up.

I did finish a very nasty T16 Meta, and noticed in hideout two of my flayers were around 90%. That was a real surprise, I was just used to seeing the green bar full. So maybe they could die to a T16 Meta with some sort of unkillable Juggernaut build, but you'd seriously have to try.
Wll, didn't count HoGm. PvP rules are enabled there.

I also didn't include really deep delves in my statement. I am around 800 right now and on some nodes with extra rippy mods they do drop to 60-70%. But as I mentioned, one proc off the shield, which happens pretty much every second in Delve, and their bars rocket back to 100 in a couple of seconds.

But I can se them dying from some big damage spikes in like 1300+ depth or something.

I have heard in many places that impale is not calculated correctly in POB. There's suppposedly some fork that does calculate it correctly, but honestly I'm not sure how much I trust people external to GGG to understand how anything is calculated unless it came from GGG as definitive.
The best measure I can have is "feel" and a stopwatch. I know I am mapping faster now, I know some bosses are melting faster. I know the only problem I have are those immortal totems because I have to find it (no pierce), but I also know I don't have to deal with proximity bubbles. This game is all about tradeoffs, what matches me doesn't match someone else.
To me the biggest plus is i can spawn skeletons, and then i can run away and focus on not dying to stupid crap like degens or boss attacks. I just did a map while I was on a conference call. lol
