Infernal Legion Support Gem - how to boost the damage?

I'm really interested to try out this infernal legion with Elementalist though, golemancer has huge bonus for golem damage, with now total 6 types of golem, every Primordial Harmony = 120% increased damage, normally golemancer can get up to 8~10 Harmony, so it's 960%~1200% increased damage, and if we link golem with infernal legion, deathmark(25% more+24% more), minion resist(29% more and -10% fire resist) and minion damage(49% more), elemental focus(49% more), with elemental weakness aura, I supposed the infernal legion burning damage could be higher than RF?

Righteous fire starts from a base that's twice as big
...and gets an extra support gem (unless carrion golem + non-golem minions)
...and gets the new dot modifier to burning
...and is an active gem, so can be scaled with the new +fire gem modifiers.

In short i really doubt any golem build would rival a RF build for fiery degen damage.
yes, RF has 2x based from HP/ES, but we need quite some passives to get enough regen, while golem is immune to burning, with at least 6 of them walking around, we haven't counted in the golem's own damage too.

I'm going to list down max modifier for RF to compare with IF again. I would assume degen damage from RF is always the highest, but we consider in the cost of build + efficiency to run the map, IF golemancer might be better.

*RF is my favorite build too, but the investment is pretty high and can't kill the mobs outside of the screen xD
Another rather useful question: can this thing proc effect of combustion support gem?
I know all player come and say : "ahahah nice, u have try a bot u get ban, sooo nice" but i tell u its just for try, for see and for know. I have use this 10 minutes maximum and i have insta uninstall." - some not-too-bright dude, 2013; Joined 2012, † 2013.

No. It doesn't ignite enemies.
I'm on my second hardcore infernal legion witch. The first one was extremely successful but I made a mistake by playing her in windowed fullscreen mode and she died when the thing minimized during the Kitava fight at the end of act five.

My thought reading all the comparisons to righteous fire totems is that people are looking at and using this skill in a very different way from what I have been doing.

To me the fire damage is just a red herring. It's a VERY nice bonus but not what I'm actually socketing the gem for.

What I really want is to decimate my minion's health in a way that scales with their progress no matter how much life I stack onto them. In particular, I want to bring my skeletons and raging spirits to low health (35%) as quickly as I possibly can.

This skill will do that in two seconds which is a LOT sooner than your skeleton's base lifespan of 20 seconds: 40%, 80%, boom!

Also by using a level one spell totem I force the game do all the extra work keeping my count topped off so that I can concentrate on other things . . . say avoiding damage, casting curses, or sacrificing corpses.

In my opinion, the infernal legion gem isn't a damage skill at all, though it does some damage, it is really the fuse you put onto a mobile homing missile or bomb.

There are a lot of little things I'm doing this time around to maximize both my damage and survivability . . . but the central idea is that my minions aren't just expendable . . . I'm purposefully killing and replacing some of them as quickly as I can. Boom!

I'm new to builds like this. What skill do you use as the "bomb" skill? Detonate dead? Or something else?

He's talking minion instability.

You want your minions to die so they can explode.

This item also helps the process.

My testing with it is that only things that directly affect that minions damage will effect it. This was kind of wierd to me, because it seems really inconsistent between minions.
