What is GGG's official stance on multi-clienting/dual boxing?

While this can be a touchy subject in some games, may as well ask now. From what I've heard the difficulty goes up while partying (didn't get a chance to party during open weekend.) It may not seem practical to multi/dual to level, but there are other uses as well. For example, I like to keep alt characters on separate accounts. If a good drop for say a ranger drops while playing witch I'd like to be able to load up another instance of the game without worry of breaking a rule and getting banned. I'd also like to challenge myself by trying to solo a duo difficulty just for the heck of it.

While everyone is of course welcome to share their opinion on the subject I would appreciate if someone from GGG would share in this thread if only to say "we don't know yet." Thank you in advance. Great game so far!

Personally I've no great concern about the practice in general, but just on this particular issue, the game's use of a shared stash eliminates the need to load up other characters simultaneously for trading items between them. You can just dump it in the stash and pick it up with the other character later.
Shared stash definitely makes it convenient. I admit though that I tend to be a pack rat saving for future alts or to give away (hate to waste good things o.o) to someone who needs better stuff. The barter system certainly makes me trade in to npc more. At least in beta, since there is no point in saving...once the game is live I foresee a near full stash. Of course that will hopefully take a long while with so much stash space. :)
I actually did this a couple of months ago with my bro's account and I didn't get banned or anything.
But yeah a official word on this would be nice :)

Frankly as of right now, 4 giant tabs of stash really isn't enough...
It runs out pretty fast when you get half way through Act 2 or if you play multiple chars...
I would totally buy the extra stash from the cash shop when it comes out :)

On a side note, from searching forums it seems that there is no autofollow function. Is that true or am I misreading? That would make the issue of soloing party difficulty a moot point.
In D2 solo(single player) mode people often used /players8 to increase the difficulty/HP/drops of monsters, depending on how difficulty scales here you might see people loading an instance with alts just to bump up the modifiers.

Not true! I had someone in town during the final hours of the beta following me for a whole hour.
I wasn't doing anything but just clicking around town while talking to chat and I saw someone following me! It was kind of crazy, honestly.
You may have encountered this bug: Character follow bug (Graphical)

At least that sounds better than creepy random stalker o0
Every Diablo game up to now, has taken a stance of never saying its ok but never banning anyone for doing it. Infact I've never heard of anyone getting banned from any game for dual clienting (except for things like poker).

The only games that won't allow this tend to make sure you can't run two clients at once (at least not on the same computer)

Also the Stash gets full quite quick experimentally if You do what I did and basically store every blue item that that character isn't going to use.
