Crashing when loading Act 3 areas
Most annoying thing is that I can play the game, but whenever I use tp I'm at risk that game will crash.. So now I almost cleared level 2 of Solaris Temple, went back to town to clear inventory and when I wanted to tp back, the game crashed.. So I have to go all over again.. And that's how I've been playing all day, all areas in Act 3.. Some of them like 5 times until I get lucky to pass to next area and so on.. :(

I'd like to point out in all the posts that had it wrong, it isn't "-gc2". There is a space between the -gc and the 2. The whole command line will be something with the path to the Client.exe and end with Client.exe -gc 2 although there may be a " after the Client.exe because of the long path if you have a space in the file path up to Client.exe (like Program Files).
If you installed into a default location this will probably say something like "C:\Program Files\Grinding Gear Games\Path of Exile\Client.exe" -gc 2 so you notice the space before the dash - and after gc before the 2. |

" Yes i had it wrong in my second post, i have corrected it but the one of the front page is correct. |

I heaven't played the game at all since the last time I wrote a post here and my game crashed..
The only solution I was left with is to try with windows 7 64bit.. Now, I'm using bootcamp on macbook pro and my dvd drive is not working.. So I made a bootable usb for windows, but then I remembered I also need the Mac OS dvd so I can install bootcamp drivers on windows.. My question is, can I use the upgrade option that windows setup offers or is that a bad idea? I will have to find an iso file instead of my Mac OS installation dvd cause my drive can't read anything.. I hope that will work.. All of this to try to fix game crashes.. Sigh.. I hope it will solve my problem in the end.. IGN: PsychoNoxy

crashing just in act 3 also using win7 32 and 4 gb ram |

Little bit old thread but had to post here as this is the only one that has the same issues as mine. I'm running Windows 7 32 ultimate as well, getting the exact same error messages as OP. Act 3 is by the worst.
Love the game but the crashes are so frequent I'm likely going to quit soon. I have tried the fixes and packcheck as well. No problems running other games, just PoE. IGN: Im_In_Command Last edited by Reanimate#2238 on Jul 23, 2013, 12:15:11 PM

Limited memory will cause these errors, as present in 32bit operating systems. Using that -gc 2 option will help, also lower the texture quality settings (it should be at medium by default on a 32bit OS anyway).
You can also disable the sound, I think the parameter is -nosound. Doing all this should resolve the problem if you have the maximum memory available. The problem is caused by memory fragmentation, this means that playing for a while will increase the chance of it happening. You can mitigate your chances of this happening by restarting the game frequently (I know this sucks and is hardly a 'fix'). We're quite aware of this issue and are working on a solution, it just requires some quite serious work :) Level Designer/Dungeoneer

Just to add another person with the same problem - me ;) At least I know that I am not alone, going through Lunaris something like 5 times in the row really is a pain in the ass...and all of it just to get an error at Piety´s ;) good luck in solving the problem, I will have a break until you do so or until I buy the new comp that can run 64bit...oh wait...or make the complete set of lv40 characters in the meantime :D see you ;)
