EDIT: this was posted before I tried it after the patch, I didn't realize people were saying it was now broken, I thought they were saying it was always broken. Completely disregard everything below this because after trying it, it is indeed broken.

cyclone works fine.. you do have to break from the mold of this game.. and use some mana leech gear and not just +100 life gear.

my mana, and life with cyclone are basically always at full with my leech gear on. do I have 4k hit points? no.. so yes my character is broken.

thats what needs to be fixed in this game, not cyclones mana cost.

oh and why I am here.. Thx GGG for the effectiveness bump!

43 now on my 2Hander cyclone duelist build. I like this skill! Having said that It OFTEN seems to hit nothing. I'll twirl through a pack 2-3-4 times and some right in the middle are undamaged while others are 100%-0% In the end, small packs(1-6 ish) I can actually clear faster just using leap slam/double strike. Heck, as others have mentioned, I sometimes seem to warp to a previous location when using this especially indoors lol (This is SUPER scary on HC ugg haha) Still love it, just feels like it would be pretty great if it didn't seem to whiff soo much even with resolute technique.

Now I know people have stated some of this may be intentional so one cannot hit 100% all the time but it strikes me that I've never missed with any of my caster's AoE's :D Also, having some knowledge of weaponry, IMO, 2hander range should have been a 6 base while 1 handers staying @ 4 but that is neither here nor there lol.

TL;DR Love the skill but seems to miss soo much. Would totally love it if this was addressed somehow. It just exacerbates the already prohibitive mana cost and I think would alleviate a lot of users mana issues?

I completely disagere

Cyclone is now much better. It is controllable. Its damage is effective if built correctly. Its random stopping is only if you don't control it, sort of like how GS sucks if you can't aim the aoe properly. Mana with a BM gem is completely controllable for me.

No complaint about mana for minimum spin is stupid when you haev the OPTION of spinning for a longer distance. Complaints about the mana being too high for long distance spins could be entertained, but saying that reducing the mana, when you can STILL increase the distance to the old one, is just bad.

Complaining that you now have to control the skill differently is also bad, when you still are able to control it as before, just now it takes slightly more skill.


Valid feedback is that the targetting of enemies can cause an issue, where you can't click behind the enemy due to hitboxing and have to overspin. If they could either make it target through enemies, or change targetting so that if you click on an enemy it spins past them rather than to their feet. This being said, the only WW from D2 stopped at an enemies feet if you clicked on them aswell.
the movement change to cyclone is completely awful.

it stops short almost always now, its a pain to use on a build geared to work well with cyclone.. i have to constantly over shoot my enemies now just to get it to travel far enough.

wow just tabbed back into game and I am disgusted with this change.
I was excited about a bump in effectiveness and now have a gem that even with my ridiculous leech is using to much mana.. because it stops way to short.

did you guys decrease the minimium distance by like 150% or something? you don't think a more subtle change like %10-20% would of been a better middle ground?

this skill was fun and easy to use.. its now a pain and half as effective, and uses twice as much mana .

THIS. I click where before would be a perfectly effective cyclone and it just stops right infront of the monster.

I don't care about any other "more control" argument, when the skill is complete borked because of this change.

whatever. I am logging off. I'll check back in a few days to see if this is still broken. this skill had me excited to play this game and this change has ruined the skill entirely.

4. don't mess up my fucking cyclone they will change it again and again and again until you crying little spoiled kids are pleased.

it was good before, it is rly amazing now

it has some desynch problems but hey guess what its a beta.

I repeat, it is not BORKED in any way. It CAN still be controlled effectively, indeed when you have this issue its a case of you have to spin past them, it only really effects spinning while starting below enemy -> above enemy, as you have to click further.

You can still go left/right/diagonal with complete ease, and it is FAR better in the way it now works, it is PURELY your lack of ability to control the skill which you are now complaining about except for this one situation of below->above an enemy spins where instaed you have to click FURTHER than you would prefer. If you are that concerned, or doing multiple spins, do it left->right instead, theny ou can do your "perfectly effective cyclone"

D2 had a similar problem with ww, where you couldn't spin above an enemy as easily, because of the way that if you clicked on the enemy, yuo didn't even spin into them at all, you stopped at their feet. People dealt with that just fine
lv 70 duelist cyclone with ele dmg and blood rage high defense.

Skill works 20x better than it used to i love the build now it does stop somtimes oddly, but it can be fixed and its not the worst problem ever.

Great improvment, my vision for how the skill should works has come true i slay packs of monsters effortlessly and its exciting. Thx

1. "you guys need to stop this major QQ" - Its not QQ its called feedback, people are entitles to it so get use to seeing it.
2. "you guys need to get used to the skill" - No doubt theyre trying and not liking it so theyre letting their thoughts flow.
3. "you guys should l2cyclone" - Being offensive doesn't help and if you're so good at it, show us how to cyclone.
4. don't mess up my fucking cyclone they will change it again and again and again until you crying little spoiled kids are pleased - Not your skill in the first place ;), but on a side note its a natural process in all games involving skills where its tweaked and tweaked until the majority will like it. Not everyone will be happy true, but clearly at the mo the majority think its broken.
