BSOD with only POE

Hey people... This is gonna be a long post, but the problem is FIXED

I had the same problem with the X-Fi soundcard (of course)
I then got together with my friend whos also on X-FI, to play PoE just to listen to him saying, that its just me being stupid and my computer being weird (because thats always his answer when it's not his com fucking up, even tough I find more people saying the same online)...
BUT PoE was my only game that I have ever had BSOD in for like 5 years.

I then though of the fact that he's on Windows 8 and I'm on 7... No X-Fi problems for him, and plenty of them for me.
I had been thinking for a while that Windows 8 should get a chance even tough it's only trying to make my desktop into an unhandy overgrown tablet, but anyways, I decided to try getting a hold of Win 8 and installed it....

HAVE NOT HAD PROBLEMS SINCE

it seems like it the combination of Win 7 and X-Fi that PoE can't handle and not the X-Fi alone
Thought players and especially developers would like to know this.

Have a nice day people, see ya' ingame
Me too i have windows 7 and x-fi soundblaster... BSOD...
I also have this problem when I have 5.1 Surround Sound running through SPDIF Out.

On Sun 17/02/2013 04:50:06 GMT your computer crashed
crash dump file: C:\Windows\Minidump\021713-35708-01.dmp
This was probably caused by the following module: portcls.sys (portcls+0x34BF9)
Bugcheck code: 0x3B (0xC0000005, 0xFFFFF88004634BF9, 0xFFFFF8801AE32D00, 0x0)
Error: SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION
file path: C:\Windows\system32\drivers\portcls.sys

I'm running;

Windows 7 Ultimate (x64) Service Pack 1 (build 7601)
Gigabyte GA-X58A-OC MoBo (Rev. F5d 12/12/2011)
Intel X58 i7 950 @ 3.07GHz Multi-core (4 total) Hyper-threaded (8 total)
Corsair Hydro Series H100 CPU Cooler
24GB (6x4GB) Corsair CMP12GX3M3A1600C9 Dominator DDR3
2x Gigabyte GeForce GTX 590 3GB
OCZ Summit ATA 64G
OCZ-VERT EX3 MI 256G
SanDisk SDSSDX480GG25 480G
PIONEER BD-RW BDR-203 ATA Device
Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty Champ1on Series (PCI Express)
ASUS VE278 [Monitor] (27.2"vis, s/n ACLMTF153634, December 2010)
SAMSUNG [Monitor] (46.0"vis, December 2009)
SAMSUNG [Monitor] (50.6"vis, November 2011)

I think that's all the equipment holding any importance. I will admit to having no end of trouble with my Creative, constantly having to disable/re-enable the drivers to get it back online after been used for a game or movie, but this is the 1st time I have seen this BSOD msg. Normally the program will just crash if there is a problem.

I also had to pull the power cable on my Z5500 sound system as it would not power back up after the crash. I connect through optical and use the SPDIF Out audio device.

I would recommend that people with Creative SB update their drivers, it won't help everyone but it will help most as Creative are aware of certain problems they have with Win7 systems and have fixes out to address these issues.
my soundcard is Auzentech X-Fi Forte 7.1
using same driver like soundblaster x-fi (maybe modified, but core is same)

i have same problem with BSOD on load next map.
on my win 7 64bit is not visible BSOD (screen is black and comp is freeze)
i use program "bluescreenview" and i see
my problem is in soundblaster driver ha20x22k.sys

i download and install drivers from here
http://www.auzentech.com/site/download/updates.php#xfiforte
reinstall not working, need uninstall first and install new
now working all fine

sorry for my english, I am from Prague, if you know where it is: c)
Try the PAX Sound Blaster drivers they seem to fix the BSOD

I've had the same error with my Audigy 2 ZS since sunday and ive searched for a fixx all around.

The driver I'm using :
http://forums.creative.com/showthread.php?t=698949

The workaround to fixx the problem (german forum, chrome translation works just fine) :
http://allaround.cc/free-2-plays/11/path-of-exile-bsod-stop-0x00000050-workaround-bluescreen-losung/13/

Essentially it comes down to adding PoE to Cearitve Alchemy, which solved the problem on my side.
I don't know if it works for the Xfi cards too, but the last replay before mine seems to deal with that.
Why devlopers cant deal simple work
Open site
http://connect.creativelabs.com/alchemy/Lists/Games/AllItems.aspx
And see one problem
path to exile no in alchemy tested aplications
or in openal tested aplications
http://connect.creativelabs.com/openal/OpenAL%20Wiki/Games.aspx

Why path to exile bug not in bugs of Xi Fi driver
here

http://connect.creativelabs.com/windows/Lists/XFi%20Issues/AllItems.aspx

All add this to this list

Why installer reload openal32.dll from server not using buildin system drivers in Xi fi

And why POE using sound card(xi fi) in EXLUSIVE mode ( no matter what option set in windows 7 settings)
All problem what POE lock Soundport (portcls.sys) open it in exlusive mode and when other device use this sound device in common mode we have BSOD

I'm using Windows 8 and an X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty Champion soundcard, but i still have the same BSOD issues as with Windows 7, the only difference is the BSODs come even faster. So no, Windows 8 is not the solution for the BSODs.
Experiencing same issue. Win7 + SB X-Fi == BSOD
I've had 5 page fault crashes within one hour now, using Win 7 64 bit and X-fi XtremeMusic...

I added --softwareaudio to my path of the game and ever since I haven't had any crashes
