Yes, effect of shock / effect of non-damaging ailments is a good damage stat. We get guaranteed 20% shock from elementalist. If you have 100% effect of shock, that becomes 40% instead. It is capped at 50%, so don't stack past 150% effect of shock. There's not that many sources of it, so it isn't likely you'll cap out.

In my gear in the OP you can see I get a total of 100% effect of shock from 3 items:


In addition to those, you can also get effect of shock on jewels (it is kinda mediocre in the amount you get) and effect of non-damaging ailments as a corruption on jewels (which is pretty good, but hard to get on well rolled jewels).

I'm playing this in Synthesis; I got a late start to the league due to moving. I was wondering if anyone had a chance to help me out with a gear check and some suggestions for improvement/adjusting the build; Sarinburn on my profile; here's the gear.

I have 1ex, ~430 chaos + ~100 chaos more in random currency. Trying to get an uber elder kill in before the league ends. Done 3 out of 4 shaper guardians, probably attempt shaper late this evening. I've only ever gotten Uber Elder once or two other leagues, so it's sorta my goal.

Doesn't look like you have a mana solution, other than the potion. Your resists are good enough you could swap amulet for atziri's foible, but not good enough that you could do that AND swap boots for kaom's roots (which help a ton on uber elder). Not too far off though so getting resists in shape for that shouldn't be too hard.

Cinderswallow is much better than atziri's promise, but it does require you to have a source of fire damage to spells so you ignite enemies (abyss jewel).

Don't use herald of thunder, the damage gained isn't worth the mana lost. We want 100% of our mana open for mind over matter.

Currently you're on a 4-link lightning spire trap. Lightning spire is our boss killing skill (though on uber elder storm brand does a lot of the work). Getting that up to a 6 or 7 link with a shaper hat or gloves is a big damage gain. Looks like level 21 lightning spire trap (quality doesn't matter) is only about 20c on synthesis right now, so that would help too.

Vix lunaris is a fine option for mapping, the faster brand recall is really nice. But for bossing brand recall doesn't matter, so the much higher damage offered by a second wand wins easily. (One of your jewels has a "while holding a shield" mod so make sure to swap that at the same time)

If you use a shaper hat for 7 link lightning spire, it is unlikely you'll get to pick.

But if you do, lightning pen for single target, or chance to chain for 2+ targets. None of them are all that powerful, so not a huge deal to miss out on them in favor of a 7-link hat.

If you take onslaught out of the equation for cinderswallow, is atziri's a better damage boost?

Even if you have onslaught from another source, cinderswallow is still better damage than a perfect atziri's, but they're relatively close.

If I had onslaught boots I'd probably just do another defensive/utility flask though, to be honest.

amazing build.. min-maxed abit and changed few stuff havent got all i wanted but done uber elder in sub 2m with deathless first league cant complain
