Is there a minimum ilvl we need for the t1 chaos damage? I think my current wands are 81 and 83.

Unfortunately ilvl 85 on a shaper base is required for T1 ele as chaos.

Amazing build overall, great as a league starter and scales to the endgame perfectly. Everything melts with my gear, finally managed to kill Aul at depth 581 (ele pen, onslaught, frenzy charges) with this build.

Here's my final equip for the build:





Im having lots of fun with the build. I added herald of ice (cause i love it and mana doesnt look like a problem) and I wonder is it enough to proc hypothermia for storm brand? Since it has "adds damage to spells". In that case I could find some jewels without add cold for more damage.

Yes, herald of ice adds cold damage to spells, so it will activate hypothermia.

As for whether mana is "a problem" - mana is hitpoints, any mana you reserve is lost hitpoints. Losing hundreds of hitpoint by reserving mana had better come with a big payoff to be worthwhile.

I'm not sure herald of ice offers a big payoff. It does roughly the same thing as inpulsa, but not as well. There are shenanagins you can get up to with it using three dragons to create synergy between inpulsa and HoI, as Wuhki and I were discussing a couple pages back. But just stand alone herald of ice does very little for us.

Clearspeed focused setups hammering out easy maps may choose to do some such shenanagins, but for a general purpose or bossing setup, it is best not to reserve any mana.

Not sure if OP is still posting, but I have a question about the wand mods that are discussed in this guide. I recently bought this:

But was disappointed to find out that for some reason i can't craft the spell damage/gain X non-chaos as chaos modifier because it "already has a mod of that type."

I thought that I understood from the OP that that mod only conflicts with "pure" increased lightning damage or increased spell damage, and not the hybrid mods. Is there something that I'm missing about why I can't craft the spell damage/non chaos as chaos mod?

(lightning to chaos ended up being OK dps-wise, but I'm still stumped as to why I can't add the hybrid spell damage/chaos damage mod to it).

The topotante mod conflicts with it. The hybrid spell damage mod (spell damage and +max mana) do not conflict with other increased prefixes.

The topotante mod from temple is considered an increased prefix for the purpose of mod blocking. It conflicts other increased prefixes, but it does not conflict added damage to spells. Yours already has added damage to spells though so lightning to chaos was about all that was left to craft.

It is a pretty nice looking wand. Hard to do much better than that without multimodding.

thats the current build with equips, got new helmet, gloves, boots and amulet since last time, upgraded some jewels to include life% and abyss jewel for fire and cold dmg.
I'm having a hard time understanding what makes a good weapon a good weapon for us, everytime i think i find something amazing on the market it turns out to be at least a 15k dps loss...are my current weapons good enough to carry me through red maps?


i found these myself, and wondering why these are worse then what i have, also dont mind the prices, not sure what they worth.
I watched your video on how to make a weighted search but couldnt figure it out either im doing something wrong or something has changed in the steps that makes it so it's not working for me.
I currently have 100c, and well some shit i need to sell so might have a bit more soon, what would give the most dps increase per X investment right now?

Am at 100/159 on atlas, so far done all yellow maps, and am content to grind those a bit more to build up stockl of red maps before i continue with those, also need to delve again soon, hit depth 91 when i ran out of sulphite, but got a decent batch again.

Still shopping for a new chest piece...would a 40% dmg tabula (which are like 20c) be good till i find/can afford carcass jack or inpulsa?

I see my mistake now. In the OP gear section he mentioned a "powerful crafted mod" that did not conflict with Topotante. On the wand posted right under that statement, the crafted mod is the spell damage/non chaos as chaos hybrid, so I assumed that's the mod he was referring to. After reading it again, its clear he was talking about the flat lightning damage to spells mod. Thanks for helping me realize that.

It is indeed a nice wand. I'm not running the same SB build as OP--running one of my own--but consulted this thread for advice on wand affixes. I'm still pushing to see what else i can squeeze into a wand to improve my dps. Time to start looking at multimodding!
