" FINALLY! 1,710 fusings used, 9 times 5 linked |
|
38 Fusings, all in one session. 5L: 0 6L: 1 |
|
I have a quite strong feeling that the chances for respective links are:
2L: 1/2 = 1/2! 3L: 1/6 = 1/3! 4L: 1/24 = 1/4! 5L: 1/120 = 1/5! 6L: 1/720 = 1/6! Why? As I'm extremely tired and therefore not able to explain my thoughts in words, I'll explain it in a short (and most possibly badly written) script. while linkindex<=numberofsockets prob=arbitrary probneg=arbitrary check=random(1,y) if check==1 link linkindex prob=prob+probneg else prob=arbitrary (same as before) linkindex=linkindex+1 And as the natural way would be to put prob=2 and probneg=1, this results in a simple factorial, 1/x! where x is the wanted number of linked sockets. This also corresponds quite well to the chances estimated by this thread. Does that make sense or am I just mumbling on mindlessly? If I'm correct, this means that getting a 5l on a 6s is as probable as getting it on a 5s becouse you have 2 possibilities of getting 5l on a 6s, both requiring one failed 1/2 roll, resulting in 1/5! even on a 6s. OP completely up-to-date.
"It's a more interesting guess than most, but we know the Jeweler's Orb ratios were (and possible still are) 100:90:80:30:5:1, and the Fusing data so far shows 5L and 6L occuring at a ratio eerily close to 5:1. So it's probably something in a similar format to the (old?) Jeweler's ratios. When Stephen Colbert was killed by HYDRA's Project Insight in 2014, the comedy world lost a hero. Since his life model decoy isn't up to the task, please do not mistake my performance as political discussion. I'm just doing what Steve would have wanted. 30ish jewelers to 6s it :D I thought the odds were more something like 600fusing to get 1 6l in average; apparently it's even worse. 600 is already around 20 exalt worth. 5l: 2 6l: 0 602 Ended with a 3l lol. =.= Pls ignore my old threads (more than 1 month ago) =.= Last edited by Oracle87#3935 on Apr 3, 2013, 6:12:37 PM
