[Sept 18] Character Screen

I'd like to see an addition of Crit damage: <min> - <max> based on your current crit, and/or "damage per minute" to factor in critical hit *rate*, the damage it would do, etc.

At first glance, you'd think that spell x will do better because it has higher overall damage, but a lower crit chance... but when you factor in skill y's crit chance/damage modifier, it's actually far superior. Having accurate numbers to reflect that would be great.
I swear to god if you ask me for a beta key you will get a severe tongue lashing. Cheers!
Hi there. I'll start out by saying thanks! Thanks for giving me back that dark immersive world that I haven't truly experienced since D1.
On topic:

I noticed that on the character screen, when hovering the mouse over dexterity/strength/intellect you're not able to see the whole text. It's the first number/letter on the second line of the textbox that isn't visible. Hope this makes sense.
Keep up the great work!
For your nostalgic needs:
/watch?v=Q2evIg-aYw8
/watch?v=FnYwLZcxOtY
as said by linddk: the icon in the char screen is a little to close to the tooltip (attribs/lvl)
More related to the inventory itself. Making the items reflect their size in your inventory makes it more realistic, but why not reduce the size of some armor or weapons a little? Six blocks is a lot and fills your inventory and stash really fast.

Any chance of a bigger rendering of the character on either the character screen or somewhere else? The camera angle is pretty high up, so we can't currently get a good view of all the awesome loot we're wearing - it'd be awesome to either have a frontal view of the character somewhere (at least in the character selection screen) or be able to zoom in close enough. :)

I second this idea! Great suggestion!

This forms part of my idea, and I'm glad someone else has clarified it.

Hi guys, yes I'm actually posting something hopefully constructive and not rambly like my stuff in in GD or OT boards.

As I was playing through the first act of the 'new' Wraeclast last night, I was drawn to notice immediately how much more important resistances are now. Unfortunately, when I hit 'c' to check them out, they were buried under a tab (defence) and then sort of hard to read on the fly. So my first big suggestion regarding the character screen is please make important stats much more visible.

For the elemental resistances, this could include graphical representations, like numbers inside a flame, a frosty flake and a bolt of lightning. I'm sure your very talented art dudes could mock something up. At the very least, bigger text and maybe colour coordinated by damage type.

Extending on this, why not do the same for the rest of the stats? A blade for damage, a jagged explosion for crits, shield for armour, dodging silhouette for evasion, and so on and so forth. I know I've seen similar things to this in other games -- that's okay! It's used because it works. Right now, when I hit 'c', I actually portal to town first because it takes me that long to comprehend it all.

Now, referring back to the quoted idea: why not utilise the 'c' window to show off the dressed-up character and have these stats placed around it appropriately? Weapon damage/crits can be by his/her hands, armour near the chest, elemental resists somewhere to the side, and so on. It might get clunky, so I see no reason not to retain the tabs but simply have each tab change the displayed icons around the character model.

...I know this isn't a small thing, but I think a slicker, more visually orientated character screen would go a long way in helping Path of Exile stand out and impress both new players and veterans alike.

It also helps with the issue of how to admire all the stuff you've found and possibly bought in the cash shop.

I have to give it to you, Jay, that's is an absolutely FAB idea. Give us more vanity, let's us admire our Exiled stars, and make it functional too with all those life-important stats placed strategically? Hell yeah!

Would I dare go further, and ask for a 3D rotation of my Exile Hero as I review his stats, and looks...?

Me-likes! +1
Baguette, garlic, cheese, wine...
... and a good hack 'n slash to play while munchin' the above.
Yes, I'm french.
Now that we've seen how the models look zoomed in, I think rotation in the 'c' screen should be more than viable.

Thanks for the thumbs up, SE.

Not sure I like being called 'Jay' though; it's a 'name' shared with one of my less-favoured Wilsons in the world...
