Elemental Equilibrium

Can EE put enemies at negative resistances?
If I hit a 0% cold resistant mob with fire damage will its cold res go to -50%?
Yup.
Will there ever be a way for EE characters to ignore other players' elemental auras? The 3 ways I can think of are:

- GGG changes EE such that it ignores other players' auras in determining what procs (I suspect this would technically be hard to achieve)

- A new unique or passive node is added allowing other auras to be ignored (if it's a passive node, it could be immediately after EE as an example)

I'm aware this has been raised a million times already but am very much hoping to hear GGG's plans to tackling this, if any.
There really should be a keystone with "You don't benefit from Auras" as a drawback. Which, in the specific case of EE builds, could be seen as a benefit.
When Stephen Colbert was killed by HYDRA's Project Insight in 2014, the comedy world lost a hero. Since his life model decoy isn't up to the task, please do not mistake my performance as political discussion. I'm just doing what Steve would have wanted.

Given the current balance of the game, it would have to give some pretty insane benefits to make up for that drawback.
IMO, ignoring other players' auras and charges might be a better way to ago then another ignore-game-mechanic-completely keystone...

It might be a good idea to put 'ignores other player auras' on it. If you use the keystone properly it's almost too powerful and has virtually no drawback.

This keystone is generally underrated even though it's fun to use, well worth the hassle and extremely well balanced in the sense that it can make iffy spells like arc and ice nova almost useable without making already powerful 'LMP + projectile spell' combo even more broken.
Wish the armchair developers would go back to developing armchairs.

Each hit (that deals either 1 or 2 elements of damage) triggers EE, causing a new buff based on that hit's elemental type(s), which replaces any EE buff already on the target

So basically if i hit with elemental hit (just one type of elemental dmg rolled) and have no flat elemental dmg sources on my character at all it should overwrite the state on each hit (assuming elemental hit does not roll the same element again) - or not?

As it seems it doesnt do that as i thought it would - according to the displayed res weaknesses on mobs i seem to get one roll for 5sec duration and no refresh till then.

Right, if you roll a different element each time you will take advantage of -50% resist all the time. That means you pretty much got 66% chance for at least 50% more damage and 33% chance for 25% less, making it 25% more damage per elemental hit on average on a no-resist enemy. If you don't use any other means of lowering resists that can become up to 132% more damage than you would normally do in the perfect case of an all 75% resist enemy. They mostly aren't, and you are using elemental weakness typically so benefits aren't that astounding but it still helps :)

You can't see the status update below the enemy health bar until you move your mouse off him for a bit, it really updates on every hit if you rolled a different element, no matter if it says so or not.

Thanks for that info man ;) - you cleared up my confusion about this as the displayed res on the mobs and my own testing (+the wording of mark earlier) just didnt seem to make sense together to me. With rehovering them the intended res lotto becomes obvious :D.
