(3.2) Leary's Auramancer (Low and High-end Summoner, under reconstruction ) w. Beginner guide
Hi Leary,
Just watched your last video. I'm using Solar guards too, but using Elemental Focus and Fire Penetration instead of Added lightning damage and Controlled destruction. Seems to work pretty well. What do you think about it ? You may be got other setups in mind ? |
|
" Well, because of my setup, fire penetration is just strictly worse than pretty much anything because I already reduce resistances by almost 100% on most mobs. (50% from EE, 70% from EW which get's reduced to 28% on bosses, so still 78%) And because addded lightning allows my minions to shock, it adds way more damage than might initially seem (even just a base 5% crit chance is enough to shock consistently due to the fact ur minions hit so often). But elemental focus is a fine swap on high hp bosses, like atziri, guardians and shaper, if you'd so like. Ign: Leary_AscendedNecro

Hi Leary,
I was checking your gear in POB from this classic spectre build and i saw that you have 32/32/67 elemental resists. Is that enough? |
|
" PoB doesn't have everything included. (far from) It is relatively easy to overcap elemental resistance in this build. Ign: Leary_AscendedNecro

Hi Leary as somewhat a beginner I have a question. Anyone can answer this. Under the cookie cutter you have some useful example builds, at least that's what I think they are. For example, you have a very handy "league starter" build to get you going until you can afford some other builds. The part that confuses me is you have a section under that for aura setups depending on if you want to go life, hybrid, or LL. However, these sections include the passive tree like the "cookie cutters" above it, but don't mention anything about skills or links. So what I'm assuming is if we decide to go the life route, we either follow the zombie slammer life version or sorta make out our own customized skills aside from the core? Am I understanding this correctly?

" Yes, u can either straight up follow a cookie-cutter or build a customized version from the aura setup section. However, since u mentioned being a beginner, I definetly recommend starting out with reading/following the beginner guide, using the budget variant cookie cutter or doing the classic summoner one. It's gonna be relatively easy to make currency with these variants as they've been proven to be succesful time and time again and are generic enough that it shouldn't take a whole ton of regrets to respec to a different "cookie cutter" once u get the gear for it. Hi Leary,
I have posted a few times here and have kept track of your Spectre of the day video series. I really enjoy all of your content. I started playing spectre years and years ago and have used your guides to help me along the way. I finally accomplished a POE goal of mine, to kill Shaper with Spectres. I started attempts last Saturday, and to my surprise, the worst kill was 2 deaths. I have done a few deathless runs also and have gotten my Shaper runs down to minutes now. I also completed twinned Vaal Temple map, that was fun. Over the weekend, I spent about a lot of currency on new gear, Lvl 4 Enlighten, Enhance, Empower (about 800 Chaos). My spectres feel stronger than ever. I was worried that with the loss of United in Dream that I would be losing way too much damage to do end-game bosses in 3.0, I was wrong. With this current setup, I have 8.4K ES with Chayula amulet and 25%+ resistance over cap, with a healthy amount of Chaos resistance. I could likely maximize (divine) my gear and level a few times to get to 9K ES. With Ephemeral Edge, I forgot the exact number but I believe it is 9.2k or so with Chayula amulet. This could be 10k+ with more divining of my gear and a few levels. I wanted to talk about some of the small changes I made to the build. 1. I run AG + Zombie + Min. Life + Empower in my boots. I know that the Zombies do good damage, but I feel like the bulk of my damage comes from Spectres. Thematically, I wanted my build to have tanky meat shield zombies + powerful spectres. Even with lvl 21 Raise Zombie + 1 gems from Ullr + lvl 4 Empower + Minion Life + 2 animation flasks/convocation, my Zombies were dying during the Shaper fight. They were also dying during some Guardian fights like Mino and Phoenix. My Spectres did enough damage to complete Shaper, they didn't drop below 90%. Because of this, I decided to tie more survivability into my Zombies and also add AG to the 4 link setup, thus letting Empower benefit AG as well. It kinda bugs me that Empower was 350C and only effected one gem. With this setup, I have level 26 Zombies and Level 25 AG that have an additional 50% HP through Minion Life. Furthermore, I prefer to use Ball Lightning to proc EE and not Glacial Cascade. I can do this with my current setup because I do not run Phys to Lightning in my Zombie links. Having AG alive at all times is great. I run Dying Breath + Leer Cast with him, sometimes adding Kaoms Roots/Victario Flight + Southbound Soldier gloves + Zathandrus Cassock (spelling?). I may be missing some damage from my Zombies, but my Spectres can blast through any level of content without coming close to failing on damage. 2. I run Vaal Discipline. I can't like this skill any more than I do. Boss fights, opening a strongbox, taking a bath in Harbinger blue portals, I can do it all without worrying when I have Vaal Discipline. On end-game bosses, I would swap this out for something else. Maybe another offering. I noticed you run Vaal Grace, and I imagine it works to a similar effect for what I have my Vaal Disc for. Also, I am assuming you use Vaal Grace/Desecrate as a gem swap for when you need Desecrate. One benefit of running my zombies + AG like I mentioned above is that I have access to Desecrate all the time. This is great for things like Shaper where mob bodies are not available. 3. I dropped Conquerer's Efficiency in favor of ES/Minion Dmg jewel. On topic of reservation, you can do this only with level 4 Enlighten with my setup, not sure for others. For the HP reservation, we already have a small HP pool of extra HP we do not use, so this does not hurt our HP reservation at all. This may be a questionable choice because I believe it effects the level of increased resistance cap you will get from your purities. However, I feel very tanky with this current build elemental damage is not a huge concern with the already strong purities. I still am reviewing this change though and may swap back to Conq. Efficiency. It's basically ES/Minion dmg vs higher res caps. I need to do the math on this because eventually I will have 21/20 purities and that may change the purity cap calculation. 4. I run a Quartz Flask. Basically, I can hit my QS + Quartz flask and fly through maps without worrying about packs hitting me. 90% of the time I phase run my way into a group of mobs, my temp. chains prevents them from getting about half way through an attack before my spectres destroy them. I also save my last flask as a flex slot. Sometimes I run HP flask with animation, sometimes I run Rumi's. I noticed you run a Aquamarine flask, can you explain this choice? On topic of my gear. I have worked very hard on it. I could get a little more Int on my rings but the rest of the stats on them are good. Using my ring with 3 Stats because I can swap to and from Chayula to Bisco without having to worry about stat requirements on any of my gear. Essentially, I planned around having Bisco as my main amulet and +16 all stats from Chayula is extra. Please let me know what you think about my gear, my build, and the changes that I have made to gear/gems/passive tree. I added an alternate belt/ring that I have and sometimes use as well as my magic finding gear. I feel that I have done everything in the game so I am feeling quite successful and happy, but I wanted to let you know about my small changes and that the content has helped. Hope to hear from you. Stay sane, exile! Last edited by Somnuse#1257 on Sep 11, 2017, 6:56:02 PM

" It's all fine :) That's the whole idea of this guide is that you can adept to your playstyle. It's just that the current setup im running is ment for mapping/easier endgame bosses than for the shaper stuff. 1. Ye sounds all fine, this is pretty much what I did in breach, but with stone golem instead of AG. No need to use phys to lit for shaper/guardians either, so sounds just fine. I'd do the same tbh. 2. Well, ye partially, but I'd still not run desecrate main, cuz most of the times, i'd prefer another utility. Vaal grace works particularly well because it has longer duration, and synergizes well with the faster recharge start im using, as well as being actively more defense when necessary (unlike Vaal disc, it negates damage incoming based on what your receiving, instead of flat, so being better in the situations you'd need it more). 3. Ye, that's fine. Efficiency isn't necessary in every setup, and definetly is not a bad jewel to swap out when you're settled on reservation. And wait, how does it effect res cap? That'd be the conquerers potency, the %curse effect and aura effect jewel of the trio, which tbh shouldn't be dropped ^^ because it also affects the curses, disc etc, and I don't believe it really affects purity resistance cap in most setups (there is also some weird rounding going on with purity cap at 50%/60% (depending on lvl 20/23) but not sure what that's about) 4. Ye quartz flask is fine. Did that before too. As I said, there's some flexibility. I just like the longer duration of aquamarine flasks, and haven't noticed as much problems with mobs being in the way this league. Really this slot changes for me a lot, and I love the quartz flask when Im weaker or when a league is more cluttered (like breach). -- On the gear: It seems all fine. You look knowledgable enough to gear yourself from what I can see, and the setup for swapping presence and bisco's is smart, as I set it up the same. Tree can't really go wrong either, but you did miss that 1 aura effect node from sovereignity (Im really not sure on how big that effect is, but I believe it still matters enough to take it.) Anyways, good to hear you accomplished your goals and like the series. Sadly im busy with study now and helping my gf move, but should be able to continue the series soon. Ign: Leary_AscendedNecro
