Color in Path of Exile

I do have to agree with the OP in this one. I've not had too much trouble telling my character from another. I do think it looks a bit nicer with having your character or important items more vibrant then the surroundings.
I concur with the Op as well. A little more color would enhance the game a lot.
I have had difficulty seeing the little health bar out in open fields. The transparency is fine in caves, because of how dark the screen is, but in well light areas it's hard to see.

A slider to change the opacity of that health bar in the options menu is my suggestion.

I agree with OP completely. Made another thread about this without having seen this. Let us know what your thinking devs :)
I like how they enemies blend into the background though, it's good when they can surprise you.

I haven't played with others yet, but a way to tell if other players are in your party would be nice, especially if they ever/have already implemented team PvP
In regards to color, a lot of the time I had real difficulty in caverns (Act 1, mostly) when I had my map on screen. The greenish color of the terrain on the map conflicts with the color of the actual floor. For most of the time spent in caverns, I couldn't see where I was going or where I had been before.

I also agree that though the game looks nice as is, it could be more exciting and fun to have intense battles where im not just casting split arrow in a crazy lump-mass of mobs cause i cant pick out individuals easily :\
I agree with the OP. From my point of view it seems like there really just ins't enough color contrast...everything sort of looks like you are seeing it on an overcast day.
Agree with OP, IMO it's a bit too dark! :P
Bumping this thread in order not to start a new thread on the same subject.

I got my beta yesterday and first i want to say you guys are doing a great job. The game is really fun.

I will try to post my feedback in existing threads and this one goes fine in this thread :)

The visuals in the game are indeed of the same tone. When playing and going around in the beach I immidiately felt I had a hard time distinguising chest from the background. I missed some chests due to the fact I didn't see them (then I went back and found them).

I have looked around on fellow beta members gear and the same goes with the gear. It's hard to distinguish the "imba" gear from the "scrub" gear.

The visuals could be a little more distinct.

I don't know how you technically color the items in the game but what I was thinking was that having different tones/color palettes on different groups of items.

Some of the groups that I would like to "instantly" be able to visually distinguish are:

- Characters
- Monsters
- Items (some of them are hard to see when they drop on the beach)

There are probably more out there but I thought I just give the feedback for the ones I feel are the most important.
