Unique Weapon Models?

I acquired the unique Death Harp, Raven Bow; and it has a sick ass looking item picture but the weapon models looks like a dull bow.

Is this because they simply haven't designed specific rare looks for unique weapons yet or am I going to always look bland because this may prevent me from playing the game long term.

I play to make strong, decked out characters. I understand GGG has stated there focus is not who has the best items like in D2, but it is very annoying when I have this uber unique bow with a sick looking item portrait and it looks like a piece of crap on my character.

Is my bow I'm referring too.

I am sure that they will add new art for unique items somewhere down the line.

However, you also have to consider the fact that they (GGG) are planning on making money by selling aesthetic enhancements.

This absolutely scares me, if making my character look good means spending real money over time and dedication, then bye bye Path of Exile, hello Diablo 3 :)

it seem's that you don't have understood that GGG need to live from theire creation...

this game is designed to be free to play, but they need a source of income. you're not working here, you're playing, they work and you play, they don't sell their game they offer it to you and the only thing you can do to pay theim in return is to buy a beautifull skin for your mighty bow, and a decent helmet which show your power...

or you buy D3 (that represent a lot of cosmetics for your character in PoE), or you go to another "free to play low level character"... ah yes because in the other free to play you have to pay for the mighty unique bow you've just found here...
in these game you can't have the high level stuff without paying real money (sometimes you may try to farm for the same stuff, but a 3 bucks item in the cash shop may means 3 month of real time farming...), you'll prefer this solution ?
you'd prefer that your character be powerfull or good looking ?
here it may be powerfull for free !!!!!
so you can play for free strictly at the same level of power that everybody can have and you can play the all game...

you're absolutely scaring to me...
you don't even see that this game is a good rarity in this ultimately greedy world because of the fair economics choices of the devs....

... nothing
I would rather have the game be balanced for everyone, with no purchased performance enhancing items. It is a reality that GGG need to make money. I would rather it be pay to look good, not pay to win like Battlefield heroes turned into.

I mean you don't NEED the bow to look good to use it. It's not like PoE isn't far more graphically pleasing than most people would have anticipated anyhow.

If you don't want GGG to make money on aesthetics or performance enhancing items, how would you like them to make back all the invested money?

Have you removed Asus ROG/GameFirst yet?
The problem with paying to look better is that you want unique items to not only perform unique functions, but also have unique aesthetic characteristics.

There are so many other things that GGG could charge for besides making your character look cool. Extra classes? Extra (but not necessarily better) skills? More content doesn't = pay to win.

F2P games are still in their infantile stage, but if GGG doesn't make unique items look unique, AND they do make so you can make any item look cool if you pay for it, I will be extremely disappointed.
I don't mind the idea of adding some matching character weapon visuals for unique items, but it was the comment:

The general idea that GGG will be selling something as trivial as small aesthetics is a game breaker? Seriously? I want to know what WOULDN'T be a game breaker if something so trivial IS a game breaker. What would this fellow accept as a way to make money if not small aesthetic changes?

I really don't think its that trivial at all. And if it is trivial, then ggg won't make money off of it.

Priorites my dear fellow. Little aesthetics and nuances, such as weapon models, are quite low on the totem pole. Why? Because they ARE trivial. They have no impact on gameplay, mechanics, or balance.

Have you forgotten that this is a Closed Beta, and absolutely FREE? The Closed Beta means it's a work in progress and things are developed according to their priority. A few visuals are not a priority. The Free part means that some things, like weapon skins, are in fact trivial, due to their low or nonexistent impact, at certain levels of game progression and development.
And so ? what do you want theim to sell ?
seriously ? have you something better in mind ? or you ultimately think that free to play must be free and super top cool in everyway ?
what's the means to earn money then ?
and when I say earn money it's begin by paying the cost of the server where YOU play this game...
