Donald Trump and US politics

So we have some influence from natural drivers and some from humans. What could we possibly change ?

@ faerwin: I´m not that pessimistic. This thread is just full of nationalists/alt right people.

I'm very surprised that you're willing to admit that you're alt-right on a forum like this, but nonetheless I respect your bravery.

Except the West isn't going after ISIS in Syria, and they're actively giving them air support.

What I see going on is the USA is trying to keep ISIS corralled in Syria, while giving them some assistance, because they think ISIS will potentially outlast the Assad regime. They'll support ISIS in Syria as long as Assad is in power there.

Think of ISIS as like a hornet's nest. They can't directly control the hornets, but if the hornets are attacking your enemies, then they're considered just another tool in your arsenal. There is no reason to spend resources eliminating hornets when they're attacking your enemies. That's probably how Generals in the USA see it. Off the record of course. Because ISIS is enemy #1 any time a camera is in their face.

Americans are complete idiots. They always require an enemy to fight overseas, so they gave them one. At least 3/4ths of the politicians in Washington couldn't exist without the USA always having an enemy to fight overseas. Because being tough on America's enemies is a winning message across all political parties. Even though the masses never benefit from it, and these wars mostly serve to stuff the coffers of the military industrial complex.

The interactive bbc map is interesting. It shows major losses of IS territory mainly far away from Damascus. After Assad allowed Isis to gain territory (so the west would be distracted from him) this is actually a good strategy by the coalition.

EDIT: when I posted the bbc link this morning, the map showed a comparison between January 2016 and December 2016, in December you could see a gain of Isis territory around Palmyra and a strip owned by Isis extending from there to Damascus, while in total there was a loss of territory esp. in Iraq and the Syrian north. So apparently they changed it to the current date just today. The text below still refers to December 2016.

"[...]IS militants were in control of about 60,400 sq km (23,300 sq miles) in December 2016, compared with about 78,000 square km (30,100 sq miles) in January, the report by IHS Conflict Monitor says. This compares to a loss of about 14% over 2015.[...]" (c/p)

Just found one from October 2016 to show you what I´m talking about:

So, that was December 2016. This is the newest map I´ve found( includes unpopulated desert areas as "Isis territory" ):

As you can see Assad was forced to do something against Isis...

A small loan of a million dollars can work wonders.

GGG banning all political discussion shortly after getting acquired by China is a weird coincidence.
Eating bugs could help fighting climate change AND famine around the world... (cow's farts contribute a lot to climate change(I'm not joking))

Just saying...
