These immigrants have visas...they have a right to enter. Why was this so urgent anyways? Why only non 9/11 countries?
If you read the executive action AND Obama's, you'd know the answers are 1. to audit the INS vetting process and 2. Trump didn't make the list of high-risk countries, Obama & Co did.
lol "obama and co" made the list. Intelligence agencies always have a "high risk" country list where they focus intelligence efforts. This magic list was not intended to block refugees. The list was also longer than 7 countries, and included the four countries that primarily birthed the 9/11 attackers. None of which are on Trump's list, and all of which Trump has deep financial vestments.

You can audit practices without a "Muslim Ban"

Have you heard Giuliani speak? He is one of your guys right? He says Trump asked him to help create a muslim ban, but to make it legal. Giuliani says that is what they did.
I haven't heard any such statement from Giuliani. But just read Trump's order, it doesn't specifically list nations AT ALL, it instead refers to countries listed under US Code. The US Code then circles back to other executive agencies. There's been no changes to the list since Obama, the only change is treatment of that category for next 90 days pending audit of INS vetting procedures.

What do you mean, how? Millions of refugees prevented from entering the country, that's how. Great news. If it were true, of course.

Do you read? And by that I mean, do you have more than a visceral reaction to things and actually go in search of your own truth?

The cap has been 70K refugees per year. Each one goes through rigorous vetting.

Why are you afraid of refugees? Why do you want to keep them out exactly?

Do you read? I wrote "if it were true".

It's funny how libs always miss the point. Never mind, I'll spell it out for you - and you'll probably miss it again. The liberal media's strategy is absurd. Hillary's election strategy was absurd. If you're wondering how absurd, just look at the clown who got elected as president! How bad do you have to be to lose to TRUMP?!

What was Hilary's campaign slogan? Love trumps hate. How stupid do you have to be to mention your political opponent's name in your own fucking slogan? Jesus Christ just thinking about this triggers me.

Anyway, the same with CNN's coverage. What some genius somewhere thinks is a campaign against Trump, as the genius would be appalled if they read a headline like "Millions of refugees prevented from entering the country", is perceived in entirely different ways by a significant portion of the population.

Now, about refugees, have you actually interacted with or seen any? Because I have a few refugee camps in my country, one of them in my city, and I'm not a US citizen but if I were, and if I saw a headline "Millions of refugees prevented from entering the country", I would think to myself, "Great! Well done!". I won't waste my breath to explain to you why I think not having refugees in the country is a great idea. If you haven't reached the same conclusion from the information you have available, you're a lost cause anyway.

Not a Hillary supporter. She was the second worst possible candidate we could have had. The worst won. We were talking specifically to the refugee issue. It doesnt matter to me that you are not American, it matters to me that you have an opinion on this issue. I have no idea what the statistics are for your country. You offered millions of refugees. Last time I checked, I think the number was around 800K refugees in total admitted to the US since 9/11.

I am speaking out of memory here... I can easily go find the numbers if pressed. But, I believe there were like 2 of these 800k that were involved in terrorist plannings and they were caught before the crimes were perpetrated because our vetting system actually works.

And, I am legitimately curious as to why you believe it is good for any given country, you may use your personal experience, to have a ban on refugees.

TLDR: What the libs should be doing is thinking long and hard about their mistakes and how they lead them to the current situation instead of continuing with their hysterical and irrational behavior, expecting it to yield different results.

Looks like you had an edit after the fact.

I agree with this entirely. I am a very disenfranchised liberal. I frankly "hate" my own party about as much as I "hate" Trumpians. We are elitist and corporatist, and are completely out of touch with the common person.

I am a "liberal" on paper only, as the ideals of the party match my own. But, no... I do not support the left power structure, and am, and have been vehemently and vocally opposed to it for years.

I have the habit of frequent edits and additions to posts.

About the whole refugee thing - again, not going to waste my breath explaining my views. I've already done this a number of times in the forum and it never seems to result in anything constructive. The guys who agree with me before I explain myself will agree with me afterwards, the guys who disagree will continue to disagree, nothing will change and I'll have wasted my time writing the obvious (to me) for the Nth time. No thanks.
You have to be realistic about these things.

Okay that is fine. But, I dont know what the point of getting involved in debate is, if you wont. Why do you speak up other than to make assumptions about others, and chastise, if you are not willing to offer substance that backs your vituperative message?
I was having a laugh at the quoted CNN headline. Certainly my last wish was to get in a protracted and pointless debate with someone with entirely too much time to spare. (I know, assumptions again)

On that note, have a good evening or whatever it is in your time zone.
You have to be realistic about these things.
