You can crit with controlled destruction. A 100% reduced modifier means your crit chance is halved, not removed. Crits are rare, but that doesn't matter since you're hitting a lot of targets and you only need to crit once every eight seconds.

This is not entirely true. CD reduces your crit chance by 100, so if your crit chance is 150%, it becomes 50%. Since this build doesn't stack crit, it will be reduced to the minimum of 5%.

However, we don't need to crit with FB. The EO buff is triggered by Orb of Storms, which is not linked with CD, so it has its regular crit chance (and attacks much more often than your FB). That's the nice thing about EO - the damage bonus applies to all spells, not just the one that triggered it.

50-70 was the hardest part for me. The build was so much squishier than the life-based builds I'm used to. I kept getting stun-locked until I bought an Eye of Chayula. That helped a lot, I can flamedash out trouble now, but I still got one-shot frequently.

The thing that made it work for me was the Decoy Totem, and I still kind of facepalm thinking how long I went without it. Decoy Totem is absolutely necessary to make this build work. What I do now (on maps) is:

1. Run around and get some packs to follow me
2. Place Decoy
3. Place OoS
4. Get the hell out of there while the mobs gather around the Decoy
5. Throw FB at them and run to the next pack while everything burns to death

I still get oneshot from time to time, simply because I'm terribly under-geared but it's a lot of fun like this. I wasn't able to finish Merciless Lab yet though. I think I need more cast speed on my gear to get a 10-stack FB on Izaro before he oneshots me.

If I did this all over again, I would probably go dual totems first and then spec into this once I reached 70.

Any chance for low life version?

Have had some luck so far with some drops enabling me to buy a 9%/100% Doryani's when I was level 69.


Running a 5L chest and about 7700 ES. I still feel squishy but have been mapping with some friends. I definitely feel solid soloing and might try uber lab soon. It is very much different from my previous witch that leeched so much :)

Mana is super tight when running discipline and a curse on blasphemy but I don't have elreon ring yet. Does he start selling rare ones once he is higher level? So far he has only sold terrible blue ones.

You need to regal the blue elreon ring :)

Ewwww ok. I wasn't sure if he ever sold rare ones or not.

So your options are take one from him to regal or find/buy one from someone. Will have to try that out when I get home.

Does the -mana cost come directly off? IE: if my cost is 17mana and I put a -7 ring on...my cost is now 10 mana?

Yes, it would be 10 mana.

First attempt creating a CI toon. Seems way to squishy. Maybe should blade flurry would have been a better starter choice?

Thanks for the confirmation :) that is pretty strong then. Nearly 50% reduction from one item. Yes please.

I think I notice mana issues most when I am in a party and other people don't have great ST damage. But I will have to do some comparisons.
