Did I read something about the new security feature failing to work properly after the initial patch? It was the first time I had to reenter my password in weeks. If my pc had been compromised by a keylogger in the meanwhile that could have well led to my account getting cleaned out.

Have yet to be hacked once, suppose that also gives a bit of false confidence. So far so good though.

Found out my account was wiped of everything worth starting with Alchemy orbs and above. My lvl 8 Hardcore character got killed and both Hardcore and Default League Stashes were looted. Orbs of Chance, Transumation and etc. category of orbs were not taken. Only Alchemy, Chaos, Regret, Scouring and more valuable orbs.
Thankfully there was very little to take from me so I am not so mad about losing items as I am mad that my account was compromised.
Not once has anyone gotten access to my account since the day I first touched a computer. I've always been careful and aware of my actions and I am more than confident that the fault couldn't possibly be on my end as I have not visited "phishing" sites or shady sites with possible keyloggers.

Although I have been using PoE Helper, a Chrome extension, which basically shows "vendor" recipes from the items I have in my inventory and stash. That made my day much easier as I didn't have to remember all the combinations for valuable orbs and etc. However, that extension requires your username and password and I highly suspect that somebody got my information through the extensions. Either broke the security of the creators website or database for that extension or the creator is just leaking/selling account details.

Either way I advise anybody who uses that extension to delete it immediately and change your password.
I made a mistake and hopefully will learn from it.

Just to be clear about this:
You do NOT have to enter your login due to the extension itself. Nevertheless it requires you to be logged in at the original homepage www.pathofexile.com.

As far as i understand poehelper does not have access to your login details. so if you have a program or extension where you actually have to enter your login other the poe homepage or the game itself it is a fake and you should delete it.

I have a question for the dev's and im sure i am not alone..
When i change my ip addres (this is automated because i dont run a fixed ip adres it would cost an insane amount of money to get a fixed ip adres) wil i have to always delock my account true a verification mail? This happened to me today and it was the first time on PoE ever, probably because of the ip/anti hack measurements. I think ure efforts are amendable to say the least but i would also want to know, do i get kicked from ure servers if my provider decides to grant me a new ip adress? I am only playing hardcore on PoE and if i wil get kicked/disconnected every time my provider grants me a new ip adress this would be very bad news for me...since this happens automated and out of my control, and i think i am not alone with this issue. so to sumarise

B. Wil i get kicked/disconnected every time i am granted a new ip adress by my provider?

C. is there any way u could track the change of ip adress durring sesions rather then disconnecting? like if the change of ip adress occurs in between sessions, this could be a potential hacker? if it happens durring a sesion i dont see how it could be a hacker since the session never terminated.

Some clarity arround this issue would be much apreciated Dev's.(maybe i just got unlucky and got disconnected at a ip change ocurance, i dont know )

just tried to login in and got the login from different area message.
waiting for the unlock code now but im not expecting any good.
chars are all below lvl 40 and all on scrubcore so not much loss there.
also not really alot of valuable currency and items on that account so not a huge loss for me compared to others. Its quite possible that the fault is on my end, but since so many people are being hacked im sure not everyone of them is to blame themselves.
Really enjoyed this game, much better than D3 imo but as other people said before, I too will not take the risk investing alot of time in this game to lose everything to a hacking piece of shit faggot one day. I also didnt spend any money on PoE yet so im not really expecting any much support from GGG in my case. Its very sad, goodbye PoE, I will miss you

I love how I have never had an account hacked ever in my 8+ years of online gaming. Yet the moment there's a new patch initiating new anti-hack features, my account gets hacked.

Since this game is in beta, I'm not to upset about it, but if it was fully out then I wouldn't be playing it anymore. Thankfully they only took the few valuable rare items I have.

Also a reason hackers may only target low-mid wealth accounts is because if they hacked a high profile account the crackdown would be more heavy, but since it's only us low players, I guess it's not so bad...

maybe u should read my post DOS it is very unlickely that a lot of people who have a "standard" internet connection have a fixed ip adress cuse this wil simply cost to much, as a result ure internet provider maybe giving u a random ip adress every couple of hour's, this in return could be seen by the new anti-hack measurements as an attempt of hacking. Forcing u to get a delock key for ure acc,

but what concerns me more is if u get disconnected when this swap of ip-adress occurs
(im playing hc so for me this is VERY dangerous to say the least, and since fixed ip adresses are very rare for comon internet users, this should be adressed instantly)

i seriuesly dont care if i have to get a delock key everytime i have a new ip adress and i want to enter the game, but i do wonder if i wil get kicked when this occurs, this would have a far more dramatical effect to all of the hc players...

change it evry month, looking forward for an athentication on a mobile phone
