Did you watch the IGN video? Chris stated that the map you are running will drop map of the zones adjacent or the current zone. This may mean that you wont be seeing tons of low tier maps running mid or high. One can hope.

I did and im not hating, mostly hoping! But just because it should drop doesnt mean it will drop. We roll now not for items but for more map drop chances. If they are for sure going to drop(or w.e) they we roll for better item chance which would be fine. But how do we know for sure it will drop(or unlock or w.e). Based on boss kills? Or clear amount? Or both?

Like I said I hope it fixes/works well, I was just voicing my opinion about maps currency state :)

Biggest thing I want to know is what is happening with the old maps? Are they gonna be a big pile of Cart Chisels waiting to be converted? The 1st gen maps seem like they don't drop as many maps or uniques without those rarity rolls that the 2nd gen maps have.

Would love to have more detailed information. Looks awesome. Hope it wont get bored too fast. And everyone will start top right corner to improve theire gorge map by 5 lvls xD
