The update looks entirely uninteresting to me. More maps? Wow, ok. What would make me happy is a rebalance of the game so we can have fun again.

If people arent ripping to essence encounters in act 1 normal all the way up to maps, shit game.
2 expansions back to back in such a short time , I smell smoke .

I love GGG and this game a lot but I dont think this is going to make endgame all that great still. Still running maps. Still spending currency to do so? There are several map types that are just not fun to play because of layout issues with all sorts of builds.

The thing I think that makes maps so frustating is the drop rate of getting progression maps back! Rolling maps and spending 100 or more chaos and barely getting anything back for it just plain sucks! It also means you are forced to clear all maps as much as possible and running around trying to find that pack you missed is no fun and also underground units make it annoying!

If there was some system in play where you didnt rely so heavy on map drops then I think people would enjoy endgame little more because you could kill most of the mobs and then boss and move on instead of back tracking constantly and spending all your currency just to roll maps.

I dont know what that system could be but I really feel there needs to be something different then just more maps and layouts and bosses. I hope the new currency is dropped enough to be useful so that fixes the drop rate issue of maps! Just my thoughts!
Maps is what keeps me in this game so THANK YOU guys from being different and not like the other games out there and keeping a solid end game. That Minotaur is mine!
Sorry to people who don't like maps but that's what a lot of people like about the game. Maybe youd prefer a Griii...*pushes back down vommit* iiift instead? Haven fun with that.
Definitions:
Path of Exile; A world where you are free from pay to win. Unlimited builds, vast enemy mods and a strong end game. Unrivaled community in real life and rewarding developers.
Path of exile is one of the best ARPGS created/ Died 25 times to 1 boss in Path of Exile and would rip again.

How much currency do you spend on a map? I basically never chaos anything below tier 10. Sometimes 9s if the mods are brutal.

I dont use a ton of chaos because it doesnt pay out very well it seems. Its not rolling over hard stats, people chaos for more pack size for better map drops. For example this league, I havent played very much but I have only found less than 10 yellow maps. I rolled well over 50 and havent found even 10 from them. I keep buying them from zana.

Its just a weird thing to do, spend what you make to do progression? Currency is for items, atleast thats the way I see it in these types of games. I dont mind that much I just simply think the issue is lack of drops(which is why map cost can be very high) and bad layouts are just not fun to play when you are forced to clear map just to get any return.

Everyone loves mountain ledge and gorge because its easy/fast but if I didnt have to clear every map just to make sure I get the payout to keep going then I wouldnt mind doing other map types because if I left 30 monsters somewhere I could just move on.

And ive seen people spend like 500+ chaos in a day rolling maps which to me is insane lol but those were red maps and what not.

Edit: For example imagine if you were given a map of equal tier or +1 automatically as long as you clear 75% of the mobs and also killed the boss. Some system like this allow for better progression and also people who want to skip the boss still can but people who can kill all bosses will be reward too. Fast clear speed is important but if you miss say 30-70 mobs its also not a huge back track issue because your still rewarded.

Did you watch the IGN video? Chris stated that the map you are running will drop map of the zones adjacent or the current zone. This may mean that you wont be seeing tons of low tier maps running mid or high. One can hope.
