2.3 - The Frost Nuke™ - Crit Vortex + Herald - Full screen explosions

Thanks for writing this up. Couple of questions though. Did you head towards the Templar side for the AOE nodes first, or did you head towards Shadow for the damage? What skill did you use to level from 1-28 before you had access to Vortex? I'm currently using Freezing Pulse with Frost Bomb but it feels very slow.

I pick up the AoE and then the crit/life.

I leveled with Frost Bolt because I originally thought I'd be using both skills. You can pick whatever you like, it doesn't matter.

Is the CWDT lvl 9 for the lvl 2 IC so that it activates less often?

Ah it's just an oversight, I forgot to relevel the gem. I used to use that CWDT on a different character.

What to use pre-28 until you get vortex ?

edit: Also a few leveling grids would be nice, so we know where to start.

I also replace crit strikes with conc effect so the degen does a lot of the work.

And just pay attention to his animations, his attacks are very predictable so just leave a vortex behind him, let him attack why you run around him, lay another vortex, etc.

Whatever skill you want, it doesn't matter or change the build. Level 28 takes like a few hours. And I'm sorry I don't typically post leveling trees for my builds, I just think it's intuitive enough that it's not required. You get what you need when you need it as you level up. Life, crit, AoE. That's all this build has.

This build is great! Most fun I've had playing POE in a while! Hit level 86 but the only thing slowing me down is jumping into a pack and one-shotting myself to a rare mob with reflex. How do you mitigate that?!

If you're really having issues with reflect you can replace pendulum with that ascendancy node that gives 50% reduction of reflected damage.

I personally just avoid directly hitting reflect mobs.
