I have a question about the flask the writhing jar. What is it good for? Other then just release some worms. Btw i'm kinda new to this game so i might be doing something wrong.

You use the writhing jars to for additional explosions from herald of ice. This helps the proliferation through the pack and adds additional damage.

What did happen with 2.4 that made this less favourable? Currentl lvl 61 and loving it. Although the elemental proliferation doesn't seem to work with herald of ice for chaining the ice love on. Not wearing a carcass yet, gems not qualitied or even max level though so maybe this is the cause, too little aoe atm?

From what I gather on reddit, the only real change has been conflux?

I too am wondering if this build is still viable, cuz it sounds like a lot of fun.

I respecced an old witch (that doesn't sound too good but at least it is halloweenish) who has existed almost 3 yrs that was totally outdated to this build last night, minimal cost (just a buttload of chroms). I can tell you it is still viable though my character is only 89 and only has 6 ascendancy points (I didn't have time to do uber lab last night plus I want to get used to playing this). I do need to get some better wands, it was a rushed job last night; it was late and I was tired.


And we finally found a used for the damned writhing jar flask.

I have lost count of how many times I've died trying to pass the 3rd Ascendency trial. Even with 70k dps. I've had to change out gear to increase shield to around 1.3k, but it's still not enough.

Getting super frustrated.

You should put a disclaimer on how bad this build is until very late game.

Useless strength nodes in excess, expensive HP modded items/etc, crappy early-to-earlylate game dmg, etc.

I'm at near endgame (t14+ mapping).

This has been a fun, but ultimately disappointing build.

The items for this build are overly expensive, resulting in massive frustration with endless grinding.

The DPS spoiler image is fake, as this builds GETS NO WHERE near that dps, (granted I don't have the Legendary endgame wands just yet).

The highest you can hit with near-endgame if done right with tweaking is 98-100k and that is with Innervate going off and giving you onslaught.

I theorize with endgame wands and all maxed gems you may hit 150k if you have the patience.

This is not an ez-mode boss killer as it takes a loooot of moving-in-and-out-and-praying-that-you-don't-get-one-shot.

Building life was a huge mistake for this build as Life based builds for sustain are shitty compared to ES as of 2.5.

Tl;dr
Don't build this if you want to reach Endgame content solo, Atziri, Shaper or Breach Lord.

Have none of you read the posts in this thread? The build stopped being good when conflux was changed. That was 2 or 3 leagues ago.


Also @Monsterella: Don't say something is fake just because you don't have the understanding or capacity to replicate something. Who the fuck posts fake DPS screenshots? Glad you didn't pay attention to anything. Hopefully you wasted currency on this. It was stated pretty clearly that the build was discontinued after the conflux nerf, but it still has plenty of damage if you have the right items.

well.. I d like to say thanks, though this build isnt really viable now I had a lot of fun with it back then, and still tend to add into my builds way sto proc similar hoi explosions as clear speed enhancers. ( usually with 3 dragons) the playstyle though.. madly attack or die I havent seen anything similar since then .. :(
cant believe people would straight follow an old build then complain about it not working as well now.
