I have two questions:
1. how do you sustain mana? I can shoot like three times and i'm out.
2. how do you deal with single targets? It's just painful to kite them and shoot for 1 pixel of hp bar. And it's even worse in the light of huge mana cost.

1. you can use warlord's mark, clarity, rallying cry, mana on hit jewel, mana leech passive nodes(those near ranger or duelist), or life and mana leech enchantment on boots (labyrinth).
2. for single targets, besides using spell echo+frost wall, I suggest increase your pierce chance to 100% (pierce gems 50% and passive nodes above acrobatics 50%), this increases the number of explosions by a lot when shooting multiple frost walls)

Profane bloom does look good, but iirc, profane bloom damage doesn't scale with aoe/chaos/generic. I might be wrong though. What does OP think?

The damage does get scaled the same way, only issue is that the mobs need to be cursed.

Thanks for confirming. Does profane bloom or obliteration chaos explosion on death cause poison? If either using snakebite or poison gem. It seems unlikely though since they aren't linked/related to snakebite/gem

Or is there a way to make it happen?

The explosion can certainly poison. The way to get it to work and the reason I tried a Ranger Pathfinder variant is with Master Herbalist. It works. Snakebite does not work however as it says 'Attacks' .

I believe there are a few other ways to get the explosions to poison but none are as consistent and as easy as pathfinder.

I have a lv66 witch with an empty skill tree. I was planning to recreate her previous build but with last years changes this seems difficult and I'm not sure how to take that on (or I would need some serious changes).
I really loved all the explosions from my Herald of Ice arc build, so when I saw this build I got excited!

I'm definitely going to try out this build. Good thing it is cheap since I don't have much currency. I still need to get all required equipment and still have an empty skill tree, so I'm starting fresh.

After all the feedback and considering I'm starting fresh, what would you suggest me to do?
Follow the general guidelines on page 1 and try out some stuff for fun?
Do you still recommend elementalist?
I have an unlinked Carcass Jack lying around, just have a few orbs of fusing though. And I was planning to use Alphas Howl before my character got reset.
You seem to be using a mix of armor and evasion. I have a 5L armor currently.

Not to be a spoilsport, but that armour is going to be an absolute bitch to chrome for anything resembling this build. It isn't the Eva/Armor defences that are a problem, it's just all off colours that you need. The Vorici Chromatic Calculator (http://siveran.github.io/calc.html) suggests it would take 18K chromatic orbs just chroming it, or 6.8K if you use the 2B1G Master bench @ 100 chromes per try. Either way, you would be much better off buying armour with the right sockets or at least Eva or Eva/ES defences. For way less than the cost of 6800 chromes (which is worth very very approximately 10 exalts) you could buy some very good Eva armor with 5 links.

have you tried dropping GMP? i figure this would help out with single target a bit, wouldn't it? or try using a more single target orientated skill, like frenzy maybe. lower mana cost, faster attack speed, good damage, should be more dps...
or even power siphon. just something to get those first kills to trigger the explosion is all you need, right? getting some crit via power charges and the massive base crit of those wands should work fairly well to boost single target dps

i want to do a version of this build but unsure if i should roll pathfinder or elementalist. i basically always turn my builds into flask builds now, but thats still easy to do without pathfinder.

I dont think dropping GMP will help out as you want to overlap your explosions and posion as much as possible for the single target. Frost wall + spell echo should do the trick though. Just gotta be careful with the placement as you dont have unlimited uses anymore.

I havent played the build yet, but i think getting a frenzy there somewhere and running it just to keep the charges would be nice. Also, Elementalist gives way more damage and spread for the build but with Pathfinder you can drop poison and use faster / slower proj instead.

also, if you go through the comments, OP explains that if you want more dmg roll elementalist if you want more utility run Pathfinder (also seems way more tankier than elementalist but less dmg) :)

curious as to how important poison is for this build
