[2.3]Dela's Obliterate Build CHEAP & FAST clears 200% life UPDATED
" I am primarily using flame totem and fire storm to level. If you have these items in stash they rally help. The wand allows me to have 4 power charges up almost constantly with fire storm. I also have KB socketed just to level it until I can use it. I do use it occasionally just to get familiar with it and the armor makes it a 4l with the poison application. I was able to get normal Crematorium Piety down to 0 health before she ported out. |

So I've recently levelled a witch up to play a build like this and wanted to share my thoughts. After playing around for a bit I feel as though these wands are at best a 'late' game cheap levelling option. The damage required to scale it into late maps just isn't there, and have to run with two of these gimps your defense too much to make it truly HC viable.
I tried running with a decent 1800 armor shield at getting the shield nodes in the ranger area next to the pierce nodes, along with the scion/duelist wheel. These nodes are great and definitely help you feel tanky, but you really have to be using two obliterates to not feel weak damage wise. You're losing out on 15% extra chaos damage, and I feel like you want the 40% explosion chance to feel comfortable. Comparing this to the amount of currency you could spend on a champion or pathfinder and its not as good, especially considering HC. | |
" So far beacon of ruin is very important as is elemental conflux. I've been experimenting with different classes but so far losing out on these two things from the Elementalist just isn't worth it. I'm still continuing to test however. " I leveled with firestorm, grabbed fire nodes and later respected out of them. I'm currently leveling another character and using blade vortex / blade fall this time. " Champion is clearly best for HC right now, that's really not debatable. People, myself included, are working on making other classes viable and are working on making this build more HC friendly since I didn't build it as such. That being said, I am not sure how you can make a build that clears this fast reflect free for such a low cost. As far as I'm aware, there really isn't one. The flasks alone for the pathfinder cost more than this build. As someone who got to level 100 last league, I am certain this build could do the same. I am almost level 94 already and never have any close calls anymore. Clearing T8s, T9s, T10s and 11s at light speed is the recipe to a fast level 100 as long as you can make it safe. The build won't be for everyone but at the very least it is a fresh feeling, fast clearing build on a budget, hard to deny that. Last edited by getinthevan#7119 on Apr 15, 2016, 2:15:39 PM

Any reason you take so much energy shield in the tree? You only have ES from gear on carcass and the rings anyways, not to mention it makes blood rage deal more damage to you as well. Seems like a bunch of wasted points, especially the ones near the witch start point. You could take the 2 int nodes instead and that frees up 2 points. If you really need the mana regen there are better nodes than the witch start.

Running a variation this build as a ranger in HC perandus. Was testing with charisma but the mana pool was too low to run dual 50%'s and kb consistently. Would probably either have to pick up a lvl 3 enlighten or primal spirit + mana flows. I chose to go with dead eye (endless munitions) and will pick up powerful precision whenever I feel like doing merc lab. Raider also seems like a viable choice.
I am currently running determination/HoA with IR but I dont feel like HoA is even needed. Build has 5.6%LR to sustain blood rage, 204% life w/ 4 jewel slots, sitting at around 5.7k hp and 23.5k armor with my current passive points.

I am using 6l kb with gmp, pierce, poison, void manip, & added chaos. Also using wither totem, a CWDT setup and frostwall. I am still messing around with skill set ups. I was initially running dual wands with twin terrors and the damage was pretty crazy, but I felt too squishy. Final Planned build:

" this looks really nice! i havent tried with a single obliteration wand, are you still getting enough explosions? aside from that, great setup and probably the best defensive solution i have seen here ^^ " well, in general it should be possible to level with the popular stuff like firestorm. spark/orb of storms without any passive investment if you want to play as wander already get a twyzel unique wand, that will carry you until you can use obliteration izaro normal can wait until you have some more levels, its not that urgent my links would be kinetic+gmp+added chaos (if you have already), poison, phys att dmg, as you like or firestorm+echo+controlled destruction+ele focus something like that as a caster |

" Currently still working my way through yellow maps but packs die in 1-2 kb's. Since the initial projectile and the explosion are both increased by proj damage most stuff dies off screen. Single target is and always will be the issue with this build I feel, although some of that is fixed with wither/wall. Not sure what your currency situation is like but you could run a 5l and snake bites. I was doing that with a 5l carcass. I didn't like the fact that I had to manually recast frenzy so much in longer fights but you have too because you lose a lot of single target damage when poison is not up. I've also been experimenting with a 50% kb helm but I really don't like dropping devoto's. After playing with the ms% the game feels like slow motion without it. I was thinking about swapping to raider and trying to work haste in some how to replace it. TBH I feel like the strength of the build comes from the chaos conversion itself, not so much the aoe on death explosions. |
