[2.3 Video Guide] CoC, Quill Rain, INSANE DPS Assassin [HC/SC Viable]

I have made a small adjustment to the build:

1. Grab some ES on gear (I have a EVA/ES 6L chest with 300 ES, but i think arround 150-200 should be enough)
2. Invest 2 points to get Eldritch Battery
3. get 2 jeweels with +2/3 ES per enemy hit
4. Run both herald of thunder and herald of ice in a curse on hit setup with warlords mark

-> your dps will increase by quite a bit AND you will have 3 endurance charges up pretty much all the time + the curse effect. my tankyness went up a lot by doing this :)

another thought:
If you have problems with with reflect and/or using a lightning coil, you could also get an alpha howl+ enlighten + 2% mana reserved jewel and you could run purity of lightning replacing the second herald which will help with reflect AND make the physical mitigation from lightning coil even better. you will probably need to get 4th jewel slot in your tree for this setup though.

How do you get lifesteal with this build?

I have some more questions, the one above about lifesteal.

But also

Does the knockback work with barrage only or also EK and spark.

Does the knockback means as long as u attacking and proc crits u are kinda imunne against melee hits?

Also how do you get power charges against bosses? Assassin's mark only give charges on kill.

Ha det bra.

1. There is no life leech in the build except for the occasional leech from HoI + LL :)

2. It works for knockback and spells.

3. Immune, no but it makes it significantly easier to deal with.

4. You gain power charges via your Ascendancy class. You have 10% on non-crit to generate a charge :)

This was my first CoC build, and i'm enjoying it very much! I was using Ethereal knives but yesterday I changed for Bladefall, in the test i liked bladefall more than ethereal, I cleared the maps faster with this setup. I'm running the character with a Rat's Nest and the unique amulet, even without the assassin's mark you can get a full set of power charges, with all the bonuses think i'm getting about 60% crit, it's a very fun build! The knoback is very usefull against melee mobs and bosses, simply fantastic!
Awesome to hear, thanks for the feedback!

I think the only reason for Assassin's Mark is the 20% increased damage taken from critical strikes and the 5% increase critical chance since you get the power charges from

Can we get a deeper discussion going on Toxic delivery vs Ambush?

I'd like to hear some feedback from the more experienced players. I power leveled this build to 70 in like 9 hours and I'm loving the insane clear speed however I still don't think 4 linking frenzy is worth it and I'm confused which 3rd ascendancy is the best.

While I understand it is a very bursty build so Ambush is really good I feel like you don't need the extra crit. Once you start doing higher tier maps this might fall off really hard and toxic delivery may be better super late game? 90+/Atziri etc.
Hi Lifting,

1- you got bored? you are still at lvl87?
2- do you mind that any additional life leech mechanism would be better?

Ok maybe i will try swap out the crit gem for lifesteal, it is hardcore after all.

Maybe get some more global crit rings or so.

Yes i know u get power charge from non crits. But if u have like 70% crit. Thats like 3% chance to get a charge, maybe thats enough?

What do u think of warlordsmark curse on hit herald of thunder to get endu charges. Maybe they die to fast anyways?

For those of you that decided to do Blade Fall. Why? and how does it scale with this tree considering that most is tailored towards projectile damage and speed?
I started with this build and then made a few variations of my own.

The biggest one was to swap a Quill Rain for Voltaxic Rift, and use Ball Lightning + Spark as my spell combo instead of Ethereal Knives. You lose the attack and projectile speed from Quill Rain (which reduces the spread of Spark quite a bit), but you can pretty much ignore reflect, and the damage is still sky high. I went with Ball Lightning over Arc because Ball Lightning benefits from all the projectile damage the build collects. The damage doesn't feel quite as "instant" as the Spark-EK combo, but it still feels way higher than anything I played pre-Ascedancy (maybe due to 95% crit on Spark ad 85% on Ball Lightning?).

I added Warlord's Mark to my CWDT combo for life leech. When I'm not getting hit, regen and the life on kill from Warlord's Mark are enough to keep the life orb topped up. When I am getting hit, Warlord's Mark plus pots do the trick. Honestly, the build's main survival mechanism is just killing stuff really really fast.

Mirror Arrow can be surprisingly helpful against hard-hitting bosses you want to keep at arm's length. I also use Blink Arrow *and* Flame Dash. Might be overkill on movement skills, but I picked those up when doing the labyrinth. I find Flame Dash good to have when you've just killed a 'bearer pack at point blank range - doesn't need to be aimed like Blink Arrow.

If you travel to the Duelist area via the Ranger jewel cluster rather than the Herbalism life cluster, you get enough dex to use Volley Fire without Acuity. The other potential place for a second Volley Fire is in the Shadow area, but it requires 3 passive points. Haven't determined the value of a second Volley Fire yet.

Hell of a fun build though. :)
