[2.2] Kenzorz's Crit DoT 5-Ballistae Iron Commander
I saw your build, was interested and went with it for the 2 week perandus event SC. Changed a few nodes here and there, no clarity, no duelist mana nodes, used a flask to solve the mana issues.
Firstly, this is done on a fresh league. The clear speed up till like level 40-50 is still decent (like average, nothing to be happy about) as the damage from the level 32 bow is still satisfactory. After that point, the damage cannot keep up at all. Its the worst fresh league start I have had in 2 years. (took twice the time to level compared to my usual league start build) The damage of this build comes from pumping up your dex and drillneck. I got my drillneck on day 2, before which, was hell. Even with drillneck, the damage was sub-par on a mechanically meh skill (shoots straight, misses moving target that doesnt run towards the totem, need line of sight, aggro range is shorter than hitting range etc) Now I am lv98, fully decked out, and I can hit a satisfactory dps. Did 3 damage mod palace, twin excavation, twin shrine with damage mods etc. Can't do core though. Realised 3 dmg mod rare jewel is better than static electricity. Tooltip dps with charges (no flask, vaal skills): 26k 5.7k life with 7k eva TLDR: Decent build, just don't do it in a fresh league as a starter character. " That's odd, Were you using quicksilver flasks? Did you have any dex gear at all for at least 2 totems at lvl 32? Did you have a Rain of Splinters jewel? Were you using Faster Attacks? I did not have much gear at all on my character and did not even level using Drillneck. My totems could one shot things during leveling and I had no problems with aiming and all I did was place them ahead of me and run to the next pack while sort of leap frogging my totems between packs. Seems like you just weren't used to a totem playstyle while leveling considering you had trouble with the projectiles somehow missing moving targets even though the projectiles are really fast. and the damage actually isn't from dex, it's from the crits and simply taking the crit nodes in the Shadow area can at least carry you to end game. " Quicksilvers are a must in every race especially longer ones. Takes 2-3min to mule one at the start. I carried 2. I did not manage to buy the bow until I am around level 45+ (not gonna pay 5-7 chaos for one, there were only 2-3 available). Same for rain of splinters, not even one on sale. Got that on day 2. Dex gear? I am lucky if I can even get a good rare to use. Took me about 11-12 hours to reach merciless dried lake on day 1. I have always started as a totem build as a first character since Ambush league so you can be sure I know how to play a totem style. Usually I take 7-8 hours to reach merciless dried lake. |

" Yeah having the bow ready for you as soon as you hit the level requirement and a Rain of Splinters makes a huge difference. Fair enough I guess they would be slightly harder to obtain on the first few days of a fresh league.
