SET FREE THE ASCENDANCY POINTS (or rework the lab) [New ascension methods/lab rework ideas]
" Uber carries would not be a thing if it was so easy people could do it themselves. I know because i make a killing carrying noobs through it. Chroniccomplainerreviews.wordpress.com

Well, at least your motivations have finally come to light ;) Not that it was ever in doubt.

" This seems to point out a major flaw in your thought process. The real difficulty associated with labyrinth is not the traps but Izaro. This fact is supported by your very words above. The only part of a carry that helps outside of Izaro is getting gold keys. Also based on the forums the main difficulty complaints about the traps themselves was energy shield based characters. This of course has been mitigated by the 60% of ES trap damage change. Since then the complaints about traps themselves have to do with poor control (E.g., bad pathing to clicks using mouse) and trap game play being boring, tedious, irritating and not fun to play. The Fix:
Completion of at least Normal labyrinth allows you to choose an Izaro-only fight for all characters in that league when you attempt to enter the lab. Beating all three stages nets you access to Ascendancy only. You must be level 40, 60, or 80 to unlock respective Izaro-only fights. At 80+ by spending the appropriate currency, you can access Uber Izaro. It should be completed at least once and normal mode lab feels quite trivial in comparison. Tweak appropriately so traps aren't as punishing and you've got a perfectly fine system. Given the ease of bypassing traps with movement skills, I think a reduction in damage potential is all that is really needed, and apply that nerf only to Normal lab. Once and done per league, now you can just choose Izaro only. I'm also of the mindset, though, that Izaro (and side boss) need their health reduced about 15% through Merciless... the damage sponge nonsense feels more tedious than the actual labyrinth. |

" This is a reasonable solution, IMHO. It would seem to fit into the OP potential solutions as a combination of (I) and (II). Also, I think this may be your first post on the labyrinth matter. This is especially interesting because there's been a silly assumption lately by a certain individual that everyone wanting fixes for this issue have already posted in this forum. I know that is silly nonsense because I seem to add one or two people to the list every day. " You don't "work for" power creep, Jgizle. That's the entire reason I teased you a few posts back. Power creep is a gestalt phenomenon in the game. You claim to understand what it is. PROVE it by actually using it in a correct context only. " Also, this is a pretty scummy reason not to want the Labyrinth improved and made enjoyable for everyone. Wash your hands, Exile! " I stop and start PoE intermittently and missed out on the Labyrinth and Ascension so yes, this would be my first post on it. I don't see quite the same issues insofar as traps are concerned (though it seems map trials are far more unforgiving and aggravating so I bet Uber is similar) but definitely appreciate how it can feel tedious. I think the fights with Izaro himself are the most tedious, just got my essence league evasion tank ranger through normal lab and each encounter was just 5 minutes of me holding right click. Tried merciless on my lightning scion and the constant movement I had to employ to avoid dying compared to the damage I was doing was completely demotivating and I certainly feel like she has decent gear and a decent build. |

" Scion has the worst AC in the game right now. Shes a jack of all trades but master of nothing. She cant get anything good from other classes, and all the other classes have much stronger nodes to go for. The best thing you can do with scion is path from different parts of the passive tree at the same time. Its good for maximizing on passive tree, but nothibg compared to the power in the other classes in general. That is most likely the reason she feels weak. Chroniccomplainerreviews.wordpress.com

" Against Izaro, it's simply too much stuff flying at me for the damage I do at the rate I can, and we know bosses don't get shocked much. She needs some better defensives I'm sure, but cripes the amount of green balls and the rate at which that ground attack is used makes it practically impossible to strike without getting killed... and I cast Storm Call at the rate of about 8 per second with Spell Echo. Maybe clearing more of the Labyrinth or performing other similar duties can reduce his damn health at least? Maybe attack speed, too? |

" Jack of all trades? Not at all. If you look outside the box, Scion actually is a master of something, the passive tree itself. Being able to manipulate the tree's starting points, choosing the most efficient paths, spending far less points to reach certain important key nodes on the tree and getting extra points on top of "half" of TWO other classes ascendancy bonus nodes. Properly planned out, she can reach greater sheer power than any other class, at the cost of very specific powers that only other classes have access to. That's not a negative, for certain builds. There will be builds where Scion is sub-optimal, of course, imagine if that wasn't true? But the same goes for all the other classes available. TL;DR Does she miss certain key things from other classes? Why, yes of course. She is a different class, with her own specialties, where she excels beyond all the others. Carry on my waypoint son, there'll be peace when maps are done. Lay your portal gem to rest, don't you die no more. 'Cause it's a bitter sweet symphony this league. Try to make maps meet, you're a slave to the meta, then you leave. Last edited by Xavathos on Oct 10, 2016, 12:53:43 PM
