[2.1.0] Self Cast Crit Poisonstorm (100% Chaos Firestorm) [Atziri Viable]

Respecced my character to a more defensive spec, I've updated the guide with this new defensive version and kept the old offensive focused version up too.

Hey im currently play this in thc,passive tree same as offensive,just other gem setup bit more defensive and what i want to know,how the hell u get that 12k tooltip dps for firestorm? is it come only from crit multi and quality gems?

Stacking crit multi jewels boosts my DPS a lot, 12k is possible even without quality gems.

Oh and my tooltip DPS screenshots are with 6 power charges since this is a power charge using build after all.

When going blood magic in the defensive build i assume you dont use an infernal mantle as you are constantly taking 100% more spell damage or am i wrong?

Nope, the opposite. I am never taking 100% more spell damage because I am never on "Low Mana". Low Mana means 35% or less of my maximum mana but since I have 0 maximum mana I'm always at 100% of my 0 mana. Blood Magic is a great way to use Infernal Mantle while bypassing the downside :)

Thread update: Uploaded a T13 map run up to the boss kill using my defensive build.

ZiggyD says he confirmed with the devs that that post was a mistake

I'm inclined to believe him because

1. I don't think he would lie about this

2. Area Damage is a generic damage modifier like Damage, Projectile Damage and Trap Damage, all of which scale poison.

Since I am taking Blood Magic my ES is not going to recharge as long as I am casting spells (since it costs life to cast) however if I put my ES on my mana via Eldritch Battery it will recharge even while I cast spells.

Well that is if my understanding of the ES mechanics is correct.
