[3.0] Legasi's Masterpiece - Trivialize Bossfights! Shaper Deathless! Boss Guides inside! HC
" onomastikon is correct. Just stick to the guide man. You looked at SummonAsi, the character where I'm playing around with low life righteous fire atm. My character LegasisMasterpiece is exactly like in the guide. " Lol no the Blood Magic support gem is for Purity of Fire to get on low life. BM does nothing for RF since it costs 0 mana anyways. But don't bother with this experiment, stick to the guide. " Hi there, don't worry about the cost too much. The build does just fine on up to yellow maps even with trash tier gear. The most expensive mandatory item is the Consuming Dark. When I made this guide is was around 20c, but the price has risen quite a bit :/ Anyways, it's only important around lvl 80ish when you actually start speccing chaos damage. You do *not* need Shavs for the build. If you meant Infernal Mantle, the chest we're using here: It's considered vendor trash by most players (lol if they knew) and even a 230% es roll should be in the 1c range. Dirt cheap. You can check prices of gear here, in case you didn't know: http://poe.trade/ ______ Now for the flasks. Generally they are just a bonus on top. You can (and should for lower level characters) flask up before entering a pack, refilling it again, but flask uptime is not mandatory for the build, more like a occasional power boost for tough situations. I'm pretty much not using flasks for trash clear at all anymore, only for the hardest bosses. Atziri's Promise is very nice, and practially free too. It's the most common drop from the optional sideboss Atziri and the market is overflowing with it. A perfect 15% elemental roll should be around 1c as well. Rumi's is quite strong, but not substantial for the build. You don't need to buy it, but if you find one yourself it's a nice upgrade for a regular Granite. Vessel of Vinktar is... just the icing on the cake. Veteran player's treasure ;) Absolutely not required. The one I'm using is a legacy version too, it's unobtainable in new leagues. The new version is semi useless for the build anyways, don't bother with it if you're playing Essence league. Masterpiece vialbe all the way even without expensive flasks. I played the build for a few months before VoV was even added to the game. Have look at some of the recent commenter's profiles to check out which flasks they are using and their level of gear ;) So as budget flask recommendation I'd say: Mandatory: Basalt, Atziri's Promise, Mana Mandatory for Zealot's Oath version: Sulphur Optional: Granite, Ruby/Saphire/Topaz, Quicksilver depending if you want more pyhs defence, ele defence or movespeed. ______ I removed the Wither Setup from the 'official' version during the last big patch. It's still mentioned occasionally in case someone wants to include it nevertheless. I'm personally still using it against the Shaper, have a look at the Shaper guide if you're curious ;) ______ Kinda surprised you as a new player are not turned off by the huge array of complicated mechanics this build is using (CI, conversion, double dipping, curse effectiveness, AoE scaling, energy shield recovery, stacking firestorms, dps, etc...); rendering it not beginner friendly. That's why I decided to aim it at advanced players. Explaining all of those in detail would make the guide veeeery long and unnecessarily confusing. Nevertheless, if you got any questions, feel free to ask! Good luck :D My Build Compendium: https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/1634158 Last edited by Legasi#0675 on Oct 30, 2016, 12:51:30 PM

Did you remove passive tree and leveling explanation?

" I made a mistake at formatting. If you just forget a " sign it just cuts off everything after ti. This forum is extremly user unfriendly. Sorry. It should be fixed now. My Build Compendium: https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/1634158

" Hey man thanks so much! OK I will ask, and bump your fantastic thread again. I really like your guide despite its complicated mechanics because you also focus on bosses. Just using my intuition and trying to get by without reading guides (since they all work with Shavs and all that expensive stuff anyhow), I never have a problem with trash, only with bosses. A suggestion for a solid cheap build for bosses is just too great to pass up! Thanks in advance for taking the time to help! I'll start with the easier questions first then - Yes, you are right, I can get a IM dirt cheap! I just got one for 1 alch. 5L cost upward of 35c, however. So am I supposed to save up for Vorici and do 4L first and then later 5L with Vorici (myself), or am I supposed to save up to buy a 5L and later a 6L? (In other words, in general with chestpieces, which is the best strategy for poor people: buy a good base and socket + link it myself, or get good sockets and forge good stats myself, or just buy sockets and stats together for a lot of $$?) - I'm not ready to go CI yet. Still leveling. You write to get Consuming Dark around level 80 when I start to spec Chaos -- until then, I just go normal fire, right? I don't otherwise convert enough chaos to fire to make much of a difference by going for "Fangs of the Viper" near Shadow -- is that what you mean? But until I do that, I'm not really using your build, am I? I'm just using normal FS, right? - Leveling: There should come a point when your build kicks in and I switch to CI (I'm not there yet). Until I do that, I should NOT take GR or ZO, but when I do go CI, then I should take those with it at the same time, right? That would seem to make sense. And I DON'T take VP and ZO at the same time (because the one cancels the other out, right?). BUT because I don't have that cool Vessel of Vinktar flask like you do, I will sort of want VP (you don't need it because you have VoV). For a person with VoV, is ZO still better than VP *if* I have at least some regen, or will I lose that regen once I spec out of life (and hence I go for VP)? - Maybe I actually am not understanding those complicated bits right then. Can I try? *double-dipping: Not sure if I am understanding this right, actually. Does that mean: Bonus to +chaos damage affects my DOT poison and my converted Chaos at the same time? Or what exactly does that mean that I have to do correctly? *prestacking: not sure what that means. Does that mean I cast it ahead of time and let the mobs run into it? *curse effectiveness: Actually not sure I know what that means either: do you mean the bonuses from Malediction ascendency? - And one last "main" question I didn't ask yet, about the playstyle: I had up until I read your guide been playing with FS from a distance -- hanging back and keeping a couple of zombies between me and my enemies. Using an Arc totem to cast WM thru CoH, together with EE. That won't work with your build. You dive through with WB and *want* to get hit, and getting hit casts your curse, without which you can't leech --> you have this string of 3 actions that must stick together in one playstyle. But I am nowhere near the level to sustain that damage through leech yet. So is it even possible to use this playstyle as an alternative and use CoH WM for the main curse? Or is that ridiculous once I get Whispers of Doom + Malediction (don't have yet)? THANK YOU TONS Underrated stats: Basic human decency, small quantum of respect, microportion of compassion

" Hm oppinons differ on this. I personally always link stuff myself manually. I never roll over a 5l. ____ The build guide focuses on high level (80+) characters. I don't want to write a leveling guide without having leveled the build myself lately. Advanced players don't need much holding hands leveling anyways ;) The earlier you get your CD the better. You should definitely have one at lvl 80, is what i was saying. Without CD you're really playing "Fire"storm, but it doesn't matter since speccing chaos damage starts after lvl 80. You should pick up Fangs of the Viper anyways, you'll need the dex and movespeed is always nice to have. _____ How to sustain both pools while hybrid is also a matter for discussion. You could take either VP or GR and sustain es trough it and the life through potions and the other. I personally didn't take either I think. You don't need VP to be tanky. That's what makes this build so unique. Your regular leech combined with the bit of regen we pick up anways makes you as tanky or even tankier than other VP builds. You should play the beginner friendly ZO version, unless you are planning on playing many very hard t16 maps. You can still respec into the other version if you reach that point hehe. _____ You personally have to do anything with the mechanics lol. It's just the math and concept behind the build; it's my job understand and optimize ;) Yeah you're almost correct on the double dipping: It means a damage buff applies to a hit and a damage over time effect by the hit. I explained it a bit on the page before this. Prestacking is casting many storms, then triggering the mobs into it, for example strongboxes. What I meant here is the math behind it. Not really important. Curse effectiveness: More math. Bosses have 40% curse resist (less curse effectiveness). After all increases from the skilltree, how much leech does the Warlord's Mark curse actually provide against bosses? You don't really need to overthink this stuff, but when you want to make your own builds you should have an idea about what you're actually doing, even "behind the scenes". ____ Same case as before here. The build only starts to really work at higher levels. You said you're not CI yet, so the whole defence concept is not applicable yet. If you lack the damage to sustain as of now, just play safe. No worries. My Build Compendium: https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/1634158

How do you feel about this same setup just switch firestorm for vortex and add pyre for conversion

" Idk. No +1 gem level from IM, no delayed leech. Might deal good damage tho. Have to test it sometime. Edit: 15k tt, 4k dot. Doesn't feel like it's clearing any faster. However the 'feel' is completely different, making it a good change if you need a break from firestorming 24/7. Thanks for your answer and advices.
Another question: Have you notice the effect from corrupted? Are you planned to corrupt more then 2 of your items? I have bought same jewel + and have only 2 corrupted items: belt + ring. |
|
" You don't have to corrupt your items - you can try it to get a good corruption, but it can also go wrong. Like he wrote in the gear section: Implicit: You can try to corrupt culling strike onto your CD if you're playing a non crit version Implicit: If you're crazy you can corrupt your chest for +1 gems. Implicit: If you're crazy you can corrupt you shield for +1 to the level of gems If you're crazy you can corrupt your gloves for +1 gems. and so on. So it depends on how crazy you are ;) |
