I'm sure it will work well. The aoe radius is just there to increase the chance that packs will be "linked" by contagion. You will have to recast the combo a little more often but it shouldn't be a problem.
Jewels sockets will let you have more damage than my build if you get good ones, and mobility from dagger+evasion will make you take less damage when you cast those extra spells.

I think that now that i have access to better gear my build would chamge a lot.

so...are there any better 1h weapons that can replace bino? what about divinarius or consuming dark?

I haven't try consuming dagger myself so i can't vouch for it. I was using bino for mapping and switching to a wand for hard bosses/atziri.

And i mean that i would get way more jewel slots than i did. With maybe a secondary defense like evasion.

in my opinion - templars nodes needed just to increase aoe radius of ur contagion (+15% at all) and some health

Now we have acrobatics+PA as defence mechanism

4jewel slots(chaos damage\dot+max % life)

about items:
carcass jack(20% more aoe radius)
+
atziri steps(lot of evasion and additional spell dodge)
+
winds of change gloves(+50% projectile damage, looks like very good damage boost for ED)

don't have bino\consuming dark to test em, but want to try both of them

idk i got no problems surviving. Temporal chain as a aura is really epic. Im sitting on arround 3.7k HP and 3.5k ES (with buff) on lvl 87. Only problem is high burst, masses of spiders with certain affixes + flickering strike and mostly lags caused by infecting few screens of mobs with ED/Poison/Abyssal Cry.

@sherigan: If going this way i wouldnt take exceptional performance+and A+PA at all. Acrobatics cut your ES to a pointless level i would say. exceptional performance give only duration. Head bit more south and take the dirty technique tree. Im playing this with armor/es hybrid parts and trying to get as much life/ES as possible. You can kinda facetank enough to kill them. Or maybe its just my playstyle...i love AoE spread. Usually i cast Conta on first group and lure them in the 2nd. Cast Conta/ED/AC-->lag-->everything dead.

Yes, remember that acro cuts your ES in half so the effort needed to make up for the ES loss is huge.

Also keep in mind that if you play with bino, taking Zealot Oath will be a HUGE survival bonus and will act as a delayed but more powerful ES leech.

I had to say this is the most fun I've had in PoE to date. This build actually makes me want to play!

My 2c about passives supporting a Cont/ED build:

inc AOE > any kind of inc dmg > inc projectile speed > inc dur

My current build does not include the inc dur passives (potency of will and exceptional performance) and I don't miss them. It's pretty rare that I need to re-apply ED.

OTOH I believe I can feel a clear-speed improvement with every little +5% inc AOE, and that a Carcass Jack is pretty much mandatory.

With the six+ points freed up from the inc dur passives, I would rather head south to heart of oak through ballistic mastery.
