Got to level 80 today.

Current stats are:

38,733 DPS on a 5 link 83% Doryani (got it for 1 chaos)
3,674 life
2,399 ES
6,073 hybrid life+ES
All resists at 168+

I'm picking the cast speed nodes right now, which give me an average of 700-800 DPS per each 3%, i still have 15% to pick, which would give me around 3k+ DPS.

My gear is far from complete, and right now i'm doing T6-7 maps without trouble. T8-9 are still a bit tricky, but i have never played at this tiers before, so i need to learn each map mechanichs.

It's been a prety fun gameplay so far.

Sorry for double posting, but i just did normal, cruel and merciless lab to ascend as an Occultist.

Stats after that (no other chances) are:

39,917 DPS on a 5 link 83% Doryani (got it for 1 chaos)
3,674 life
2,903 ES
6,577 hybrid life+ES

I also dropped an Exalt during the lab runs, so i'm wondering: should i try to 6-link an Infernal Mantle or invest in other gear?

What should be the priorities?

Your HP / ES are pretty good. I see you have not gotten any movement gems in place.

You should make sure you have Lightning Warp setup ASAP. It helps a lot.

Based on your current setup I would get a dagger to setup Whirling Blades. Marty linked one that looked pretty good. You should try for something similar.

4L all slots & get your gems setup. Occultist = 2 curse so

CWDT (1) - Increased Duration (20/20) - Temporal Chains (3) - Enfeeble (3)

Vaal Haste (20) x 2 - Increased Duration (20/20)

If you are using it,

Clarity 20 - Enlighten (4) - Lightning Golem (20)

Those helms are sick. Who knows, I might even get one someday.

Sulphur Map - If you get a chance, play this one, I liked it. Maybe it is because maps fell.

I got a cheap 100% Doryani yesterday, so i'm not site what kind of stats I would need in a dagger to have better damage than that.

I also got a set of Lightning Warp + Less Duration + Faster Casting on my gloves, but I don't use it much, tbh.

I'm trying to upgrade into ES boots with high life and resists and will try to upgrade my shield. After that will look for more offensive rings.

My goal is to reach 50k unbuffed with a 5 link before I move to a 6L with empower. I figure it is not worth to spend all my currency on linking a 6L now when I still have upgrades to do.

Marty has a nice dagger linked above. Something like that should do the trick.

Would it be possible to make a LL version of this build with a Soul ward occultist and clear mind?
Will need shavronne's wrappings and 6-link bow with +1 gems or added spell dmg from essence of Woe.
