Its ok it uses accuracy.
What is not ok is for the actual skill do not register when monsters glitch and glue to the character. Or When the area of effect just improve the skill range, instead of the actual area. "It feels like holding my breath under water constantly." Me about the limited "life expectancy" of the inventory space on Path of Exile and frequent needs to go to town to unload.

Secondly, increased area of effect DOES improve the skill area, not just the range. if it just increased the range, the cone would get narrower and narrower the longer it got which would be a bizarre and inefficient mechanic. Shock nova and ice nova are complete circles in area, and get increased by a factor of r^2. Sweep is 11/12ths of a circle, and get's increased area by a factor of r^2. It just has less overall area (always 11/12ths as much — assuming same radiuses), just like it has less overall area to begin with . Cleave is 1/2 of a circle, and gets increased area by a factor of r^2. It just has less overall area, just like it has less overall area to begin with. Ground slam is 1/4 of a circle, and gets increased area by a factor of r^2. It just has less overall area, just like it has less overall area to begin with. the effect on the ground, that looks like cracked ground with magma underneath kinda floats in the air, it looks awkward when smashing downhill.
when ground slamming uphill, the effect 'buries' itself in the ground. this is merely a visual issue though, not of big importance, but just my 2 cents here. |

report from early game (templar), this skill is disappointing.
I don't know if it's because of that blind spot, but damage wise, it's useless around level 5... I do a better job with Shield Bash or Heavy Strike, killing the mob by myself. It sucks less mana than ground slam, and it actually kills things. And the skill is really slow. As an AoE skill, I'd prefer to use Cleave, but I'd like to play with mace... edit: yeah, it seems the problem was that blind spot. If I kite them, it's better. This skill is awesome, however it presents many desync problems at very high attack speeds. I have two builds (both lvl 60+) centered around ground slam.
The first one is a dual mace duelist centered around attack speed and high mace min dmg. I have about 3 attacks per second and most of the mobs on chaos (except rares or high health) are permastuned if targeted properly. However I get desynced all the time. Most common symptoms are: - I hit all the mobs, but do no damage to them; they rush me, i run and suddently I see my character was actually somewhere else (hence no dmg to the mobs). I either die or survive by popping all my potions. - Mobs get stuck in place forever on the screen, but on the server they still move and damage me (like they are invisible); after flicker striking they suddenly appear somewhere else on the map and return to normal behaviour These two problems make the character unplayable in chaos (the first one especially) since this char is based on mobility/positioning with low defenses and the bugs screw up his whole gameplan. The second build is an AOF dualwield mace templar with less attack speed (about 2/3 of the duelist) but much higher damage. On him these problems are much less frequent and much less of a problem. It might be just that the mobs die faster and I don't have time to see them, or that the decrease in attack speed gets below the cap where these problems occur. |

This is my main attack, it is really good i think, im at lvl8 on it and i think it really good at taking down big number of enemies before they are even close to you ,second attack im using glacial hammer and detonate dead on my lvl34 maruader i think its a great combo, i really like the corpse popping in d2 as a necro.

I have ground slam lvl 6. It does 20% more physical dmg. But on character screen, 1 hit does lower dmg than my normal attack (i'm not using any elemental attacks). How is the dmg calculated? Is my dmg first lowered for 12%, and then on that damage you increase for 20% or is it a bug?

"No, it does 20% increased physical damage. That's not the same thing as 20% more damage in the game's terminology. "increased" and "reduced" are used to describe additive bonuses/penalties, so this is additive with all your other increases to this damage from passives/mods/etc. "more" and "less" are used to describe multiplicative bonuses/penalties, so these are applied separately from all other modifiers. |
