Does the AoE effect also have a chance to ignite or stun enemies around the initial target?
crit'ing or outside sources of ignite chance will give all aspects of ths skill a chance to burn. stunning happens no matter what if the damage is strong enough but spells don't benefit from stun modifiers.

Including the Stun support gem? I think that would apply to linked skills that are spells or physical.
stun has nothing to do with physical, just damage dealt to foe. attacks get benefit from stun modifications, spells don't (or to be correct, fixed to not get benefit long time ago).

if fireball deals enough damage on a hit (greater than 25% of foe's hp), it'll receive a chance at the default .35 second stun (350 ms) which effectively an interupt. the formula is in the mechanics thread.

It already benefits from Inc. AoE and Conc. *shrug*

Direct damage doesn't, but the aoe it does maybe. There is no safe and sure way to test that as the already small aoe radius gets even smaller with the conc and hit adds generally get ignited which screws up the damage test.

Other than Mark saying it does actually work.
When you attatch fork or chain to fireball, does the initial hit still cause aoe damage, or just the forked or chained ones if they hit, or does it do aoe damage both places?

final hit(s), not each hit.
What are good support gems to add to make a single target Fireball for rare mobs or bosses?

Actually Forked Fireballs do AOE on initial impact AND on forked projectile impact. Small clusters drop fast with forked fireball for just that reason.
