I haven't checked the new skill tree yet. Are there any notable changes?

Finally got to 62+ level. Everything became so much easier when I don't have to use life flask for chaos damage.

Nope, The new tree doesn't remove or add anything that the build wants so exact same tree, exact same points. Pain attunement changes location but uses the same number of points to get

build will probably remain the same until ascension hits next year
I think Blast Radius and Amplify are well worth it with the new tree.

They were "okayish" before, but now with the "nerf" to radius, and increase to 50%! Areadmg if you skill both, they feel much better than the combined 20% Areadmg we have now.

I mean, we never wanted that big radius before, because we hit less, but now with the dmg? I think I will test them out on friday.
How good is this build in the new patch? And how expesnive is it?
Have not played since August, what new gems are you guys using now?

Still viable ?

So I've gotten round to updating the build. haven't done any new videos yet though.

Build is a bit less creative then it used to be. No avatar of fire shenanigans but it definitely is better then it was before.

New Stuff

> Occultist Ascend gives big ES boost and the regen lets us drop the leech
> Dropped life leech and cold to fire into controlled destruction and elemental focus. Muuch more damage
> Dropped ghost reaver and vaal pact for more Int
> Without fire walker we need to go back to rainbowstride
Nice update! Although, it seems a bit redundant to use this version/build of Whispering Ice when the scion avatar of fire one has 13k average damage on Icestorm, whereas yours only has 7k with Hypothermia

apples and oranges my man. The number you are quoting is using gems the show up in tooltip number and has elemental overload active.

I use hypothermia which doesn't show up in tooltip and didn't screen cap the conc effect elemental overload flasks up snapshot of potential damage but just standing in hideout simple numbers for easy comparison for people using the build.

Looking at their clear speed my build kills at the same rate in Wasteland and took down the boss a tad faster but really its about personal taste on a few things, my build is easy to replicate since everything is unique. It has 81% all resist unlike their standard 75% and I use the interesting new ES regen mechanic that comes from Occultist

Don't get me wrong their build is very interesting and I do intend to try my own hand at the scion now I've updated this one but very much a case of apples and oranges

EDIT: Ahhh Eyes of the Greatwolf amulet with 30% increased Int. I was wondering how he got his Int so high. Neat find, I tried for a while but always got bad versions

Elemental overload, btw, is a quasi-permanent buff for an Icestormer, especially if you don't use Controlled destruction as a support gem, or if you have an additional way to trigger it (keeping up orb of storms, for example).

Yeah its really easy to keep up in a number of builds. I immediately picked it up on this and most of my builds.

Between elemental penetrations, gems with conditions and 'temporary' buffs that are really up most of the time its why tooltip dps isn't really useful except for seeing if a gear change is better or worse on your current build
