[2.1 Medium budget] Life-Based Dual Claw Non-Vaal Pact - BoR, 100-130k dps, 5-5.5k HP, Atziri Viable
could you tell me a bit more about your experience with higher maps in groups? i seem to run into some difficulty and just wondering if its easily doable after you get stronger gear. also could you go into a little detail about your atziri escapades? :) mind you im on warbands, so no legacy BoR for this cat.

" For Atziri: It's honestly a pretty easy fight with Whirling Blades. First boss: Take them both down to low HP, then kill them in quick succession. You might die from the nuke, it sometimes happens. Second boss: kite them around, kill the ranged one first and then take out the other 2. Remember not to face tank too much. If you get overwhelmed by the adds, use Vaal Cyclone. Atziri: Unslot Curse on Hit. Change Melee damage on Full Life for Melee Splash. This is a matter of experience. First phase when it's just Atziri: Watch the floor: You need to Whirl to safety when you see a Fireblast building or any of the other blasts (there is always a safe spot from my experience). After it explodes, go in for a few attacks. If you see another blast, do the same thing - rinse & repeat. Second phase: just kill the adds when they come close. Stay in the middle. Third Phase with all the Atziri clones: Do not attack the one with the Mirror. Keep moving around, you will see small Fireblasts being built by one of the Atziri's (just avoid them). What I like to do is pick any Atziri other than the Mirror one, then move away from this Atziri clone until you see a Fireblast building at your far away position, then move to the Atziri clone to get a few hits in, and then move away again. It can be a bit hectic at first because there's a lot going on @ the screen, but it's really pretty easy once you know what to look for. I've done Atziri deathless quite a few times like this. I don't have any experience at all in groups, unfortunately ;-). |

Just for your information: I am having a very busy time at work (I'm a PhD candidate) and can't really afford to play PoE for a while. I'll try and reply to your questions whenever I see them though!

Am currently running your build with just the BoR currently but it's running great. Just thought i'd pop in to rep, also you should list what Jewel you're using. I also recommend that you explain to people that "Melee Splash" should be used for trash clearing and swapped for "Melee Damage on Full Life" for single bosses that would last long enough to make swapping the gems justified until they get geared enough where ignite is enough to kill them, otherwise "Melee Splash" is superior for trash clearing. Cheers and AMAZING build. :D

" Thanks a lot! I updated the main post with your suggestion (at the gems section in the bottom). It's a great suggestion because I actually leveled my dude in 1.3 and have no idea about what gems work best in 2.0 for leveling. Also added some more stuff for jewels (under gear - jewels). Hope it helps! |

I've also been testing Bloodrage and it's good for the life leech especially if using a and you're refreshing Bloodrage/Fortify you can sustain yourself pretty hard but as for the attack speed increase you are pretty capped already so you're hitting DR quite hard i'd imagine. I'm having a hard time deciding if its worth it though because dropping Melee damage on Full life for Melee splash and adding Bloodrage along to it actually add's quite a bit of survivability and when soloing a boss you can just swap Melee Splash for Life Leech and have even more sustain. It's a hard choice and i'd like to hear your thoughts. ^^
Also an easy item to get that helps a ton till you get BiS is a As for why my claw's colors arent right yet it's because im poor, i'm working on i, and yes i know to use Vorici. :p Also either combo of these work wonders with your build or . Last edited by Disected#2123 on Sep 7, 2015, 1:41:21 PM

Hey everyone, sorry for the late replies - I've been caught up in work and couldn't play for a while. I updated the build for 2.1 and the great news is that this build is actually even better right now! I also included a new video of a Tier 14 Shrine map clear.
" Thanks a lot man! Your build was a huge inspiration to this one. " Again, sorry for the late reply! Yeah, as with any evade-based life build, you will be quite squishy. It requires some game knowledge. Always keep in mind what sort of mobs can deliver big hits (for example, devourers), and be very mindful when you meet champion variants of those mobs. We can no longer rely on the immortal call + enduring cry cast-on-hit, so it is a lot easier to get stomped. What I like to do when I come across big hitters is to stay on the edge of a group - don't let them surround you. You can usually deal with 1 hit. Also, I usually save Vaal Grace for these circumstances. For big hitting bosses, you will have to be careful and rely on whirling blades (i.e., get in at a good time, deal some damage, get out. Rinse and repeat). Another thing to get is the instant health recovery flasks: got hit for a huge amount? Pop a flask charge and get back into the action. And don't forget to spam your evade flasks. I uploaded a new video where you can sort of see how I deal with big hits (I survive a few). I think that this build should prioritize life above dps (but in close contention). Aim for an endgame of 5k life (which is possible with my new passive tree). I think endurance charges and warlord's mark sounds really interesting btw. Let me know if you ever tried it out. |

hey, i love your build but i did find some things when going through your skill tree that i'm not sure you are aware of or if anyone has mentioned before but on the right of Art of the Gladiator you have 2 dex passives that you could drop and place somewhere else if you would like as your tree connects through the Dervish node set below Art of the Gladiator. And then next to the Fangs of the Viper node at the beginning, you went down and took a dex node but wouldn't it make more sense to take the eva/es node above it instead? just some thoughts not sure if you meant to do that or not but you could save a couple skill points and place them somewhere else and pick up 10% more evasion with a couple changes.

i decided to take a short break from my scion build after hitting 91 and since i found a BoR in Talisman, i figured i would run a dual strike build since i had never done so. this build seemed cool in that it was not expensive and based on claws, which you don't see many people using.
i agree with the previous guy's comment about the (broken?) skill tree. there are some wasted points there. here are some general comments: 1) leveling was quick and fun. i initially didn't spec into claw nodes and for a long time was using a set of Lakishu's Blades (http://pathofexile.gamepedia.com/Lakishu%27s_Blade) for the free Multistrike. i think my dps was over 6k before i even got to cruel...and that was with minimal damage nodes. 2) life is still currently low (like 3500 or so) because i decided to eventually grab some dps and it's a hike to the scion wheel and marauder area. 3) stun sucks and is more of a problem due to #2. you could maybe pick up an eye of chayula but the decrease in life would suck, especially with the lack of chest armor. 4) once i put on BoR, it was party time. i think i am doing 55k or so AOE damage with Dual Strike, Multistrike, Melee Splash and Added Fire Damage. i successfully facetanked a level 72 dungeon boss while i was level 68...and then did it again with another person in the map. 5) the defenses are good and bad. no physical damage reduction sucks. and right now i believe my chance to evade is 35% and block is maybe 27% or something. really need to get the high life pool to decrease stun and one shot chances. 6) haven't checked what the dps would be with melee damage on full life and will later, but i agree with the other guy's point regarding using splash 90% of the time. in fact, splash can actually help for bosses with adds because you can leech from all of them at the same time. here's my current tree:
