The Hoarder - My Divination Card for 1 Exalted Orb

Since it has already been revealed that there will be Divination Cards targetting Exalted Orbs, I might as well give a heads up regarding my Divination Card.

Title: The Hoarder

Flavour Text: "More! I want more!" - Faendris, the Insatiable

Target: 1 Exalted Orb

Status: Card Accepted. Awaiting creation of art by GGG.

Since there has been quite some negativity regarding divination cards with currency as the target, I would like to give a short overview of my reasoning.

Background information:

1.) I play standard only.

2.) I have fun aquiring as much wealth as possible in any online game by the most efficient way possible.

3.) In PoE I love to grind areas, slaugthering hordes of monsters non stop with a perfected mf setup.

4.) I also like to play the economy. Manipulating it to my favour if at all possible.

Reasoning for 1 ex as the target:

The main reason is curiosity and market manipulation. I want to see what happens when the main high-end currency in standard becomes farmable via Divination Cards. Depending on where the card will drop, I would guess that the value of Exalted Orbs will drop significantly. As of now I have reduced my stock of Exalted Orbs to almost 0.

The secondary reason is that I really like to farm an area (instead of doing boss runs). Depending on where the card drops, it might help to create a good farming spot.

I wanted to make fun of myself / the way I play (grinding stuff / wanting more and more even though I already own all the items I could possibly desire / being greedy).

Post Scriptum:

I love market manipulation. Maybe this post is just that. Mabe not. Who knows.

If you think that the droprate of your card would be common enough to significantly influence the sd. exalt market then you are wrong.

Obviously this depends on the drop rate of the card, the number of cards required for the turn-in and the area where the card drops. My guess would be that the drop rate of the cards should be at least that of the target multiplied by the number of cards - possibly larger. Otherwhise the concept of Divination Cards would be just plain uninteresting/bland/boring. If that is the case, then you just might underestimate the power of (directed) farming.

We shall see how this plays out. It's a fun experiment.

Only thing i do not like is the flavor text, i feel like you could have come up with something more interesting concerning the theme (greed/hoarding).

But thanks for supporting this game!

Ahhh, but this is a reference to my favourite song I am listening to when I am farming.

Cheers!

It will be as rare as the exalted at least, the top tier pack have been always amazing till GGG put their hands on the player's idea bashing them
"The exodus of humanity in search of a new home? It is like spreading a virus in the healthy space."

As someone who only plays standard and is always poor, being able to farm exalted orbs via divination cards will be incredibly helpful to me.

Is it alright if I add your card to my thread?
PoE players: Our game has a wide diversity of builds.

Also PoE players: The [league mechanic] doesn't need to be nerfed, you just need to play a [current meta] build!

MFers found strength in their Afflictions. They became reliant on them. I am not so foolish.

Interesting... when you say exa will drop significantly, relative to what though? Not suggesting you are right or wrong, but did you take into consideration div cards impact on the value of other orbs and t1 uniq items including possibly legacies? Assuming drop rate, area etc. of course you may be overestimating the cards impact on relatuve value... I guess theres 'a chance' no one bothers to farm alt or chaos cards and all go for exa cards, in this case it will impact exa negatively.
